The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the diocese of Reno, United States of America, presented by Bishop Randolph Roque Calvo.
The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Daniel Henry Mueggenborg, titular of Tullia and auxiliary of Seattle, as bishop of Reno, United States of America, as bishop of Reno, United States of America.
Curriculum vitae
Bishop Daniel Henry Mueggenborg was born on 15 April 1962 in Okarche, Oklahoma, diocese of Tulsa. He carried out his studies in philosophy at the Saint Meinrad Seminary, Indiana (1984-1985), and in theology at the Pontifical North American college and the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, obtaining a licentiate in biblical theology (1985-1990).
He was ordained a priest on 14 July 1989 for the diocese of Tulsa.
Since priestly ordination he has held the following offices: parish vicar of the Saint Mary parish in Tulsa (1989), the Saint John parish in Bartlesville (1990-1991) and the Saint Pius X parish in Tulsa (1991-1994); chaplain of Bishop Kelley High School (1991-1994); parish administrator of the Saint Cecilia parish in Claremore (1995-1996); parish priest of the Church of the Madalene in Tulsa (1996-2001); chaplain of the Saint Philip Neri Catholic Newman Center at the University of Tulsa (1998-2001); parish priest of the Saint Clement parish in Bixby (2001-2005); assistant director for formation at the Pontifical North American College in Rome (2005-2006) and vice-rector for the administration of the same Pontifical College (2006-2011). He also served as parish priest of the Christ the King parish (2011-2017).
On 6 April 2017 he was appointed as auxiliary of Seattle, receiving episcopal ordination the following 31 May. From 2017 he was vicar general and moderator of the Curia of the metropolitan archdiocese of Seattle.

The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Jorge Ignacio García Cuerva of Río Gallegos, Argentina, as member of the Congregation for Bishops.
