Resignation and appointment of bishop of Novo Mesto, Slovenia
The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the diocese of Novo Mesto, Slovenia, presented by Bishop Andrej Glavan.
The Holy Father has appointed as bishop of Novo Mesto, Slovenia, the Reverend Msgr. Andrej Saje, of the clergy of the metropolitan archdiocese of Ljubljana, until now judicial vicar and lecturer in canon law at the Faculty of Theology of the same city.
Curriculum vitae
Msgr. Andrej Saje was born on 22 April 1966 in Novo Mesto. He entered the major seminary of Ljubljana in 1986 and completed his philosophical and theological studies at the Faculty of Theology of the same Slovenian city (1986-1991). He was ordained a priest on 29 June 1992. From 1997 to 2003, as a student of the Teutonic College, he studied canon law at the Pontifical Gregorian University, obtaining a doctorate in 2003.
Since his ordination he has held the following positions: parish vicar in Grosuplje (1992-1994), special secretary to Archbishop Alojzij Šuštar (1994-1997); general secretary and spokesman of the Slovenian Bishops' Conference (2003-2013); prefect of studies at the major seminary (2003-2016) and judge of the Metropolitan Court of Ljubljana (since 2003). Since 2009 he has been professor of canon law at the Faculty of Theology and since 2016 judicial vicar of the metropolitan archdiocese of Ljubljana. To his credit he has several publications in canon law.
From 2013 to 2015 he served as spiritual assistant in the parish of Ljubljana Ježica, and since 2014 in the Slovenian parishes of Sela and Bajdiše of the diocese of Klagenfurt, Austria.

The Holy Father has appointed as bishop of Caçador, Brazil, the Reverend Cleocir Bonetti, of the clergy of Erexim, until now vicar general of the same diocese.
Curriculum vitae
Msgr. Cleocir Bonetti was born on 6 August 1972 in São Valentim, diocese of Erexim, in the State of Rio Grande do Sul. He studied philosophy at the Major Seminary of Viamão-RS and theology at the Instituto de Teologia e Pastoral in Passo Fundo-RS. He obtained a licentiate in Church history at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome (2005-2008).
On 6 February 1999 he was ordained a priest and incardinated in the diocese of Erexim, where he held the following positions: assistant of the Nossa Senhora de Fátima Minor Seminary (1999-2001); parish vicar of São Cristóvão in Erexim-RS (2002-2005); rector of the major seminary (2009-2014); parish priest of Nossa Senhora do Rosário in Barão do Cotegipe-RS (2015-2016) and of São Tiago in Aratiba-RS (2016-2017).
So far he has been vicar general, professor of Church history at the Instituto de Teologia e Pastoral in Passo Fundo-RS, representative of the clergy of Erexim and coordinator of the Commission of Presbyters of the Sul 3 Regional of the National Conference of Bishops of Brazil.

The Holy Father has appointed as bishop of San José de Mayo, Uruguay, the Reverend Fr. Edgardo Fabián Antúnez-Percíncula Kaenel, S.J., rector of the Colegio Sagrado Corazón of Montevideo.
Curriculum vitae
Msgr. Edgardo Fabián Antúnez-Percíncula Kaenel, S.J., was born on 15 May 1969 in Resistencia, Chaco Province, Argentina. He entered the Society of Jesus in 1994 and completed his novitiate in Buenos Aires. He studied at the Colegio Sagrado Corazón in Montevideo. He was ordained a priest in Montevideo on 29 July 2006. He gave his religious vows on 12 March 2015.
In 1992 he obtained his licentiate in Law from the Universidad Nacional del Nordeste, Argentina, and pursued his theological studies at the Faculty of Theology in Granada, Spain, obtaining a baccalaureate in 2005. He was awarded a licentiate in moral theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome in 2007, and in 2019, a Master's degree in family sciences from the University of Malaga, Spain.
He has held the following offices: director of pastoral care at the Colegio Sagrado Corazón (2007-2017), superior of the Sagrada Familia Community (2015-2019) and director of the Manresa Spirituality Centre in Montevideo (2015-2019). From 2019 until now he has served as rector of the Colegio Sagrado Corazón in Montevideo and superior of the Community of the same name. He has also been spiritual assessor of the Hogar de Cristo and coordinator and companion of the Caná Movement.
