For some time now, the possibility of transferring the Saint Pius X Preseminary to a location outside the Vatican Walls has been under consideration, not least in order to facilitate the proximity of young students to the places where they carry out their studies and practice their recreational activities. At a recent Audience, the Holy Father Francis informed the Rector, Reverend Don Angelo Magistrelli, of the decision that the Preseminary, starting next September, will move its headquarters outside Vatican City, to a convenient location.

His Holiness did not fail on this occasion to express his deep gratitude to Fr. Magistrelli for the work carried out in the 75 years since the foundation of the institution, recognising that it retains its educational value, and asking that it be able to continue the much appreciated liturgical service carried out by the young students in Saint Peter's Basilica in the Vatican. This therefore marks a new stage in the life and activity of the Society of Saint Pius X Preseminary, which will undoubtedly offer it new opportunities for growth and development, especially in the area of promoting vocations to the sacred ministry.
