The Holy Father has appointed as bishop of Bilbao, Spain, Bishop Jose Segura Etxezarraga, titular of Basti and auxiliary of the same see.
Curriculum vitae
Bishop Joseba Segura Etxezarraga was born in Bilbao on 10 May 1958. He carried out his ecclesiastical studies in the Seminary of Bilbao and was ordained a priest on 4 January 1985. He was awarded a licentiate in psychology and a doctorate in theology from the University of Deustro and a doctorate in economics from Boston College, United States of America.
Since priestly ordination he has served as parish vicar of San José in Barakaldo (1985-1991), parish priest in solidum of San Vicente, San José and Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza (1991-1992), parish vicar of San Ignacio de Loyola and San Juan in Deusto and San José Obrero in Elorrieta (1996-2006). He was also episcopal delegate for Caritas, diocesan delegate for social pastoral care and member of the diocesan pastoral council. From 2006 to 2017 in Ecuador he collaborated with the Episcopal Conference within the framework of national Caritas. He returned to the diocese in 2017 and was appointed parish priest of the pastoral unit of Otxarkoaga-Txurdinaga. In 2018 he was appointed vicar general of Bilbao. On 12 February 2019 he was appointed titular bishop of Basti and auxiliary of Bilbao, receiving episcopal consecration the following 6 April. He has served as diocesan administrator of Bilbao since 6 December 2020.
Within the Spanish Episcopal Conference since 2019 he has been a member of the Episcopal Commission for Missions and Cooperation between Churches, and since March 2020, a member of the Council for the Economy.

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Fr. François-Xavier Bustillo, O.F.M. Conv., until now Guardian of the Convent of Saint-Maximilien Kolbe in Lourdes, as bishop of Ajaccio (France).
Curriculum vitae
Msgr. François-Xavier Bustillo, O.F.M. Conv., was born on 23 November 1968 in Pamplona, Spain. He entered the minor seminary of Baztan, Navarre, and began his postulancy in the Order of Conventual Franciscans in Padua, Italy, where he completed his philosophical and theological studies at the Theological Institute of Saint Anthony the Doctor, before obtaining his licentiate in theology at the Institut Catholique de Toulouse in 1997. He gave his religious vows on 20 September 1992 and was ordained a priest on 10 September 1994. In the same year, with some confreres, he founded the Convent of Saint Bonaventure in Narbonne, France.
He has held the following offices: guardian of the Franciscan Community of Narbonne (1994-2018); parish priest of Saint Bonaventure in Narbonne (1994-2007); provincial Custos of France and Belgium (2006-2018); parish priest in solidum of Sainte-Croix en Narbonnais and member of the Episcopal Council of the diocese of Carcassonne et Narbonne (2007-2018); episcopal vicar for Narbonnais-Corbières, and delegate for the new spirituality movements and for Interreligious Dialogue (2012-2018). From 2018 until the present he has been Guardian of the Convent of Saint-Maximilien Kolbe in Lourdes, episcopal delegate for the Shrine of Lourdes and for the protection of minors, and since 2020, member of the Episcopal Council of the diocese of Tarbes et Lourdes.
