Resignation and appointment of bishop of Tuxpan, Mexico

The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the diocese of Tuxpan, Mexico, presented by Bishop Juan Navarro Castellanos.

The Holy Father has appointed as bishop of Tuxpan, Mexico, the Reverend Roberto Madrigal Gallegos, of the clergy of the diocese of Tabasco, until now head of the introductory course of the diocesan seminary.

Curriculum vitae

Bishop Roberto Madrigal Gallegos was born on 8 December1967 in Ejido Iquinuapa, diocese of Tabasco.

After carrying out his studies in the major seminary of Tabasco, he received priestly ordination on 30 November 1997, and was incardinated in the same diocese.

He was awarded a licentiate in spiritual theology at the Pontifical Theological Faculty and the Pontifical Institute of Spirituality Teresianum, Roma.

He has held the following offices: formator and professor of the diocesan seminary, parish priest of two parishes, member of the presbyteral council, dean, head of diocesan Caritas, spiritual supervisor of the Chapels of Perpetual Worship and episcopal vicar. Until now he has served as head of the introductory course of the diocesan seminary.

 

Appointment of bishop of Ocaña, Colombia

The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Luis Gabriel Ramírez Díaz as as bishop of Ocaña, Colombia, transferring him from the diocese of El Banco.

Curriculum vitae

Bishop Luis Gabriel Ramírez Díaz was born on 14 October 1965 in Barranquilla. He carried out his priestly formation at the BIDASOA in Pamplona, Spain, and his studies in philosophy and theology  at the Universidad de Navarra. He was awarded a doctorate in spiritual theology at the Pontifical Theological Faculty and the Pontifical Institute of Spirituality Teresianum of Rome.

He received priestly ordination on 27 September 1992, and was incardinated in the diocese of Santa Marta, and subsequently in the new diocese of El Banco, on 17 January 2006.

He has held the following offices: parish priest of San Pedro de Verona Mártir, parish administrator  of the Inmaculada Concepción parish in Remolino, vocational promotor, formator and rector of the Seminario Mayor San José of the diocese of Santa Marta, parish priest of San Sebastián, delegate for priestly pastoral care of the diocese of El Banco, parish priest of La Inmaculada Concepción in Plato, vicar general and apostolic administrator of the diocese of El Banco.

On 18 June 2014 he was appointed as bishop of El Banco, and received episcopal ordination on the following 23 August.
