Appointment of under-secretaries of the Synod of Bishops
The Holy Father has appointed as under-secretaries of the Synod of Bishops the Reverend Fr. Luis Marín de San Martín, O.S.A., until now general assistant of the Order of Saint Augustine, at the same time raising him to the titular see of Suliana, and the Reverend Sr. Nathalie Becquart, Xavière, former director of the National Service for the Evangelisation of young people and for vocations of the Bishops’ Conference of France.
Curriculum vitae of Msgr. Luis Marín de San Martín, O.S.A.
Msgr. Luis Marín de San Martín, O.S.A., was born on 21 August 1961 in Madrid, Spain, He gave his first vows in the Order of Saint Augustine on 5 September 1982, and his solemn vows on 1 November 1985. He was ordained a priest on 4 June 1988. He was awarded a doctorate in sacred theology at the Universidad Pontificia Comillas of Madrid. He has held a number of offices, including: formator of the Tagaste Major Seminary, Los Negrales (1996-1999); provincial counsellor (1999-2002); prior of the monastery of Santa María de La Vid (2002-2008); and professor of theology in the Augustianian Centres in Los Negrales, San Lorenzo de El Escorial and Valladolid. Since 2004 he has served as visiting lecturer at the Facultad de Teología del Norte de España in Burgos. He is the archivist general of the Order, general assistant of the Augustinians and president of the Institutum Spiritualitatis Augustinianae.

The Reverend Dr. Nathalie Becquart, Xavière, was born in Fontainebleau, France, in 1969. She received a diploma from the École des hautes études commerciales de Paris (HEC Paris), and studied philosophy and theology at the Centre Sèvres - Facultés jésuites de Paris, and sociology at the Écoles des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS) in the same city, specialising in ecclesiology with research on synodality at the Boston College School of Theology and Ministry, United States of America. In 1995 she entered the Institute of La Xavière, Missionnaires du Christ Jésus. In 2005 she gave her perpetual vows. She has served as director of the National Service for Evangelisation of young people and for vocations of the Bishops’ Conference of France (from 2012 to 2018) and consultor of the Secretariat General of the Synod of Bishops (since 2019).

The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Luc Crepy, C.I.M., of Le Puy-en-Velay, France, as bishop of Versailles, France.
Curriculum vitae
Bishop Luc Crepy, C.I.M., was born on 12 May 1958 in Lille. After his basic studies, he was awarded a doctorate in biology and entered the Congregation of Jesus and Mary (Eudist Fathers), giving his solemn vows on 10 December 1988.
He carried out his theological formation at the Institut Catholique de Paris, where he obtained a licentiate in moral theology.
He was ordained a priest on 21 May 1989.
From 1989 he carried out his pastoral ministry in the diocese of Evry-Corbeil-Essones. From 1995 to 2001 he was rector of the Interdiocesan Seminary of Orléans. Within his Congregation he held various offices, serving as provincial of the Eudists in France-Africa (2001-2007) and president of the Conference of Major Superiors of France. From 2006 to 2008 he he as Pontifical Commissioner for the province of France and Switzerland, of the Societé des Filles du Coeur de Marie. From 2007 to 20012 he was again rector of the Interdiocesan Seminary of Orléans and subsequently Procurator General of the Eudist Congregation in Rome.
On 12 February 2015 he was appointed as bishop of Le Puy-en-Velay and received episcopal consecration the following 12 April.
Within the French Episcopal Conference he is president of the Cellule permanent de prévention et de lutte centre la pédophilie and member of the Commission épiscopal de la Mission de France.
Appointment of bishop of Cyangugu, Rwanda
The Holy Father has appointed as bishop of the diocese of Cyangugu, Rwanda, the Reverend Edouard Sinayobye, of the clergy of Butare, until now rector of the preparatory seminary of Nyumba.
Curriculum vitae
Msgr. Edouard Sinayobye was born on 20 April 1966 in the district of Gisagara, diocese of Butare. He attended the Saint Léon minor seminary in Kabgayi (1988-1993). He spent a year in the preparatory seminary of Rutengo (1993-1994) and subsequently completed his studies in philosophy and theology in the major seminary of Nyakibanda (1994-2000).
He was ordained a priest on 12 August 2000 for the diocese of Butare.
After priestly ordination he served as parish vicar of the cathedral of Butare and director of the diocesan Justice and Peace Commission (2000-2005), parish priest of Gakoma and member of the diocesan Finance Commission (2005-2008). He then obtained a licentiate and doctorate in spiritual theology at the Pontifical Theological Faculty and Pontifical Institute of Spirituality Teresianum in Rome (2008-2010, 2010-2013). He subsequently assumed the role of director of diocesan Caritas (2010-2011) and diocesan bursar (2011-2013). From 2014 to the present he has served as rector of the preparatory seminary of Nyumba, lecturer in spiritual theology in the major seminar of Nyakibanda and at the Catholic University of Butare, secretary of the Episcopal Commission for Vocations, and member of the National Committee for Eucharistic Congresses.
