Appointment of bishop of San Martín, Argentina

The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Martín Fassi, until now titular of Dionysiana and auxiliary of San Isidro, as bishop of San Martín, Argentina.

Curriculum vitae

Bishop Martín Fassi was born in San Isidro on 14 November 1960, and was ordained a priest for the same diocese on 14 December 1984.

He has held the following offices: parish vicar of the Purísima Concepción of General Pacheco; formator and professor in the Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación Interdiocesan seminary in Resistencia; missionary in the diocese of Holguín, Cuba, vicar general of the diocese of San Isidro and spiritual director of the diocesan seminary. In addition, he has served as head of permanent formation for the clergy of the diocese.

On 17 November 2014 he was appointed as titular bishop of Dionysiana and auxiliary of the diocese of San Isidro, and received episcopal ordination the following 11 December.

Within the Argentine Episcopal Conference he is a member of the Commission for Ministers.

 

Appointment of coadjutor bishop of the diocese of Venado Tuerto, Argentina

The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Han Lim Moon as coadjutor of the diocese of Venado Tuerto, Argentina, transferring him from the titular see of Thucca in Mauretania and the office of auxiliary of San Martín.

Curriculum vitae

Bishop Han Lim Moon was born in the city of Suwon, South Korea, on 16 June 1955. He completed his primary school studies in Korea and entered the seminary there.

While he was studying philosophy, he emigrated to Argentina with his mother and two brothers. He was admitted to the seminary in Buenos Aires, and there he completed his studies in theology at the Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina. He was ordained a priest for the metropolitan archdiocese of Buenos Aires on 12 October 1984, and was awarded a licentiate in theology and a second licentiate in spiritual theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome.

In the metropolitan archdiocese of Buenos Aires he held the following offices: parish vicar of the Reina de los Apóstoles parish and chaplain of the General de Agudos Dr. Teodoro Álvarez Hospital (1988-1996); parish priest of the María Madre de la Iglesia parish (1996-2002); member of the presbyteral council and dean of the Deanery 19 “Flores” (1999-2002) and parish priest of the SS. Cosme y Damián parish (2003-2014). In addition, he was responsible for permanent formation courses for the clergy in Buenos Aires, and accompanied the Korean community in Argentina.

On 6 February 2014 he was appointed as titular bishop of Thucca in Mauretania and auxiliary of the diocese of San Martín, receiving episcopal consecration the following 4 May.

Within the Argentine Episcopal Conference he is a member of the Commission for the Lay Apostolate and for Family Pastoral Care.

 

Appointment of members of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints

The Holy Father has appointed the following as members of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints: Bishop Filippo Iannone, president of the Pontifical Council for Legislative Texts; Archbishop Felice Accrocca of Benevento; Archbishop Luigi Vari of Gaeta; and Bishop Paolo Selvadagi, auxiliary bishop of Rome.
