The Holy Father has appointed His Eminence Cardinal Dominique Mamberti, prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura, as his special envoy to preside at the celebration of Holy Mass on 28 November in the Basilica of Koekelberg in Brussels, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Pro Petri Sede Association.

The Holy Father has appointed Professor David Charles Baulcombe, professor of botany at Cambridge University, Great Britain, as ordinary member of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences.
Curriculum vitae
Professor David Charles Baulcombe was born on 7 April 1952 in Solihull, Great Britain. He studied at the Universities of Leeds and Edinburgh, and was awarded a research doctorate. He has taught in various universities. He focused his research on gene regulation, discovering how gene expression can be regulated at the level of ribonucleic acid (RNA) during normal development and in disease resistance. Since 2017 he has been research professor at the Royal Society and professor of botany in the Department of Plant Science at the University of Cambridge. He has received several awards in the scientific field.
