Resignation and appointment of bishop of Port Pirie, Australia

The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the diocese of Port Pirie, Australia, presented by Bishop Gregory O’Kelly, S.J.

The Holy Father has appointed as bishop of Port Pirie, Australia, the Reverend Fr. Karol Kulczycki, S.D.S., until now vice-provincial of the Society of the Divine Saviour in Poland.

Curriculum vitae

Bishop Karol Kulczycki, S.D.S., was born on 9 October in Góra, Poland. In 1987 he entered the Society of the Divine Saviour in his homeland, giving his religious vows in 1992.

He was ordained a priest on 28 May 1994 in Poland.

After ordination he served in the Vocational Office of the Salvatorians in Poland. In 1997 he went to Australia, where he held several role as chaplain, deputy priest and parish priest. From 2010 to 2018 he served as provincial superior of the Salvatorians in Australia.

Since 2018 he has served as vice-provincial of the Salvatorians in Poland.

 

Appointment of consultors of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints

The Holy Father has appointed the following as consultors of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints: the Reverend Sr. Nicoletta Vittoria Spezzati, A.S.C., former under-secretary in the Congregation for the Institutes of Consecrated Life and the Societies of Apostolic Life; the distinguished Professor Bernard Dompnier, member of the Pontifical Committee of Historical Sciences; Dr. Pierantonio Piatti, official of the same Pontifical Committee of Historical Sciences; Dr. Matteo Nacci, lecturer in history of law at the Pontifical Lateran University, Rome; Professor Giselda Adornato, collaborator at the Diocesan Historical Archive of Milan and of the Paul VI International Institute; and Professor Simona Negruzzo, lecturer in modern history at the University of Bologna.
