Resignation of auxiliaries of Milan, Italy, and appointment of new auxiliaries

The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the office of auxiliary of the archdiocese of Milan, Italy, presented by Bishop Luigi Stucchi.

The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the office of auxiliary of the archdiocese of Milan, Italy, presented by Bishop Erminio De Scalzi.

The Pope has appointed as auxiliary bishop of the archbishop of Milan the Reverend Giovanni Luca Raimondi, of the clergy of the same archdicoese, currently episcopal bishop for the Territorial Zone IV of Milan, assigning him the titular see of Feradi maius.

The Pope has appointed as auxiliary bishop of the archbishop of Milan the Reverend Giuseppe Natal Vegezzi, of the clergy of the same archdiocese, currently episcopal bishop for the Territorial Zone II of Milan, assigning him the titular see of Turres Concordiae.

Bishop Giovanni Luca Raimondi

Bishop Giovanni Luca Raimondi was born in Cernusco sul Naviglio, Milan, on 22 November 1966. He attended the diocesan minor seminary of Milan. As an alumnus of the Archiepiscopal Major Seminary of Venegono he attended the institutional theological courses and was ordained a priest on 13 June 1992, and incarnated in the archdiocese of Milan. He was parish vicar in Busto Arsizio from 1992 to 2000; parish vicar in Desio from 2000 to 2008; and head of community pastoral care in Bernareggio from 2008 to 2018. Since 2018 he has served as episcopal vicar of Zone IV - Rho.

 

Bishop Giuseppe Natale Vegezzi

Bishop Giuseppe Natale Vegezzi was born in Nerviano, Milan, on 30 January 1960. He carried out his preparation for the priesthood in the seminaries of Milan, receiving priestly ordination on 9 Gune 1984. He has served as parish vicar in Luino, Varese, from 1984 to 1988; vicar oblate in the Congregation of Saint Ambrose for the Vicariates from 1988 to 1993; parish priest of San Cristoforo and Santa Maria della Grazie al Naviglio, Milan, from 2002 to 2018; parish priest of San Vittore in Rho, Milan, from 2012 to 2018; and dean and, since 2018, episcopal vicar for the pastoral zone of Varese. He has collaborated with the vicariate for the ongoing formation of the clergy, regarding priests who have requested dispensation from priestly duties.
