Appointment of auxiliary of Siedlce, Poland
The Holy Father has appointed as auxiliary of the diocese of Siedlce, Poland, the Reverend Grzegorz Suchodolski, of the clergy of the same diocese, currently parish priest of the Cathedral and dean of Siedlce, assigning him the titular see of Mesarfelta.
Bishop-elect Grzegorz Suchodolski
The bishop-elect Grzegorz Suchodolski was born on 10 November 1963 in Łuków, in the diocese of Siedlce. After his high school exams he was received in the major seminary and, after finishing his philosophical and theological studies, he was ordained a priest on 11 June 1988 for the diocese of Siedlce.
After priestly ordination he was parish vicar in the parish of San Zygmunt in Łosice (1988-1990), before being sent to Rome, first to the Pontifical Gregorian University and subsequently to the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas “Angelicum”, where in 1996 he was awarded a licentiate in the social doctrine of the Church.
After his return to his diocese he served as director of the Office for University Pastora Care (1996-2006), and director of the National Office for World Youth Days (1996-2016).
From 2006 to 2010 he was parish priest of the parish of the B.V.M. Queen of Poland in Kopcie and, from 1 October 2016, parish priest of the parish of the Cathedral of Siedlce and dean of the same city.
Msgr. Suchodolski is currently member of the college of consultors, of the presbyteral council and canon of the Cathedral Chapter.
He speaks Italian and English.
