The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the office of apostolic nuncio in Great Britain, presented by Archbishop Edward Joseph Adams, titular of Scala.

The Holy Father has appointed as bishop of Rouyn-Noranda, Canada, the Reverend Joseph Ferdinand Guy Boulanger, currently vicar general of the archdiocese of Sherbrooke.
Reverend Joseph Ferdinand Guy Boulanger
The Reverend Joseph Ferdinand Guy Boulanger was born on 6 June 1963 in Whitton. After his primary studies in Lac-Mégantic, he entered Sherbrooke Seminary where he completed his secondary studies. He enrolled at the University of Sherbrooke where he was awarded a bachelor’s degree in civil law. He then continued his studies in philosophy in Sherbrooke and in theology at the Université Laval of Québec, concluded in 1991. From 1998 to 2000 he attended courses in canon law at the Université Saint-Paul of Ottawa, obtaining a licentiate. In 2007 he was awarded a doctorate.
He was ordained a priest on 26 October 1991 for the archdiocese of Sherbrooke.
He has held the following ministries and offices: vicar of the parish of Cœur-Immaculé of Sherbrooke (1991-1992); vicar of the parishes of Sainte-Lucie (Disraeli), Saint-Julien, Saint-Jacques-le-Majeur and Saint-Charles-Borromée (Beaulac) (1992-1995); member of the diocesan office for the clergy (1993-1998); parish priest of Saint-Augustin (Woburn), Saint-Zénon (Piopolis), Notre-Dame-des-Bois and Saint-Léon (Val-Racine) (1995-1998); vicar of the deanery of Saint-Jean-Baptiste (Chartierville) and Saint-Pierre (La Patrie) (1995-1998); rector of the Mont-Saint-Joseph Shrine (1996-1998); member of the presbyteral council (2000-2005); Sunday vicar at Saint-Joseph-des-Monts de La Patrie (2000-2005); director of the diocesan office for vocations (2000-2008); notary and defender of the bond (2000-2012); member of the Assembly of Chancelleries of Québec (2002-2005); episcopal vicar for economic matters (2007-2012); chancellor (since 2000), chaplain of the night Guards (since 2004), episcopal delegate to the Board of Sherbrooke Seminary (since 2007); and vicar general (since 2012).
