Appointment of coadjutor of Dibrugarh, India
The Holy Father Francis has appointed as coadjutor of the diocese of Dibrugarh, India, the Rev. Albert Hemrom, of the clergy of Dibrugarh, currently judicial vicar of the same see and rector of Saint Joseph’s Minor Seminary of Dibrugarh.
Rev. Albert Hemrom
The Rev. Albert Hemrom was born on 27 February 1970 in Konapathar, in the diocese of Dibrugarh. He attended Saint Joseph’s Minor Seminary, then studied philosophy at Christ King College in Shillong. After a year of regency he studied theology at Oriens Theological College in Shillong. He obtained a licentiate in canon law from Saint Peter’s Pontifical Institute, Bangalore, and a doctorate from the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome.
He was ordained a priest on 25 April 1999, for the diocese of Dibrugarh.
Since his priestly ordination he has held the following offices: parish vicar of the Saint Francis of Assisi Church in Rajabari (1999-2001); prefect of studies at Saint Joseph’s Minor Seminary of Dibrugarh (2003-2006); parish priest of the Saint Francis of Assisi Church, Rajabari, and visiting professor at the Oriens Theological College in Shillong (2006-2011); and since 2014, judicial vicar of the diocese of Dibrugarh and rector of Saint Joseph’s Minor Seminary.
He is also member of the college of consultors and the presbyteral college, and secretary of the diocesan Laity and Family Commission.
