Exchange of the Instruments of Ratification of the Agreement between the Holy See and the Republic of San Marino, 03.10.2018

On Monday 1 October, in Palazzo Begni, San Marino, at the Secretariat of State for Foreign Affairs and Policy of the Republic of San Marino, H.E. Msgr. Emil Paul Tscherrig, titular archbishop of Voli and apostolic nuncio in the Republic of San Marino, and H.E. Mr. Nicola Renzi, secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of San Marino, exchanged the Instruments of Ratification of the Agreement between the Holy See and the Republic of San Marino for the Teaching of the Catholic Religion in public schools, signed in San Marino on 26 June 2018.

The solemn act was attended by:

On the part of the Holy See: Msgr. Giuseppe Laterza, Apostolic Nunziature advisor;

On the part of the Republic of San Marino: H.E. Ms. Marian Alessandra Albertini, ambassador to the Holy See.

The Agreement, composed of a preamble and four articles, redefines the status of the teaching of the Catholic religion within the public education system.

The Agreement came into force on the same day of the exchange of the Instruments of Ratification.
