Erection of the diocese of Prizren-Prishtina and appointment of the first bishop

Today, the liturgical memory of Saint Teresa of Calcutta, the Holy Father Francis elevated the apostolic administration of Prizren to diocese, with the name of Prizren-Prishtina, reconstituting a diocese that formerly existed historically, and leaving unchanged its status as ecclesiastical circumscription immediately subject to the Holy See.

The Pope has appointed as bishop of Prizren-Prishtina H.E. Dodë Gjergji, currently apostolic administrator of the circumscription.
