Regional Convention on the recognition of higher education qualifications in Asia and the Pacific, 01.08.2018
The Holy See has ratified the Regional Convention on the recognition of higher education qualifications in Asia and the Pacific, adopted on 26 November 2011 in Tokyo by an International Conference of States convoked by UNESCO. The Holy See participated with a delegation led by H.E. Msgr. Joseph Chennoth, apostolic nuncio in Japan, who signed the aforementioned convention on behalf of the Holy See.
The Rev. Msgr. Francesco Follo, Holy See Permanent Observer at UNESCO, on 16 July 2018 deposited the instruments of ratification at the Office of the Assistant Director General of UNESCO for Education, Ms. Stefania Giannini. The Convention will enter into force for the Holy See, in accordance with Article X.2 of the same on 1 September 2018.
The Convention in question constitutes a revision of the Regional Convention on the recognition of studies, diplomas and grades in higher education in Asia and in the Pacific, to which the Holy See had adhered on 10 July 1995.
