Appointment of auxiliary of Antipolo, Philippines
The Holy Father Francis has appointed as auxiliary bishop of the diocese of Antipolo, Philippines, the Rev. Nolly C. Buco, of the clergy of the same diocese, currently parish priest of “Our Lady of Light” in Cainta, assigning him the titular see of Gemelle di Byzacena.

Rev. Nolly C. Buco was born in Baganga, Davao Oriental, 27 November 1963. After secondary school, he completed his studies in philosophy at the Seminary of the Sacred Heart, Palo, Leyte, and theology at the major seminary of the Immaculate Conception in Guiguinto, Bulacan. In 1999 he obtained the diploma and then the doctorate (2004) in canon law at the University of Saint Thomas in Manila. Between 2002 and 2003 he attended the Ph.D. program in anthropology at the University of the Philippines in Dilima, Quezon City.
He was ordained a priest on 18 October 1993 for the diocese of Antipolo.
He subsequently held the following offices: from 1993 to 1997, parish vicar first at Saint Clement Parish and then at the Cathedral parish; in 1998 assistant coordinator of the diocesan Commission for catechesis; in 2000 he became assistant judicial vicar; from 2000 to 2003, parish priest of “Our Lady of the Rosary” in Montalban, Rizal; from 2003 to 2005, rector of the seminary of “Our Lady of Peace and the Good Way” in Antipolo City; from 2005 to 2011, parish priest of the parish of Saint Anthony of Padua at the village of Saint Antonio in Antipolo; and from 2011 to 2016, pastor of the parish of Saint Anthony of Padua in Kalumpang, Marikina.
Since 2016 he has served as parish priest of “Our Lady of Light” in Cainta, Rizal, and as a member of the presbyteral council and of the college of consultors.
