The Pope has appointed as member of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity H.E. Msgr. Luis Francisco Ladaria Ferrer, S.J., titular archbishop of Tibica, prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, currently consultor of the same Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity.

The Holy Father has appointed as members of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints Msgr. Vincenzo Paglia, archbishop-bishop emeritus of Terni-Narni-Amelia, Italy, president of the Pontifical Academy for Life, and Msgr. Demetrio Fernández González, bishop of Córdoba, Spain.
