The Holy Father has appointed:
Bishop Timothée Bodika Mansiyai, P.S.S., auxiliary of the archdiocese of Kinshasa, as bishop of Kikwit (area 73,000, population 5,125,000, Catholics 2,606,093, priests 170, religious 523), Democratic Republic of the Congo. He succeeds Bishop Edouard Mununu Kasiala, O.C.S.O., whose resignation from the pastoral care of the same diocese was accepted by the Holy Father.
Bishop Saad Sirop, auxiliary of Baghdad of the Chaldeans, as apostolic visitator for Chaldean faithful in Europe. He succeeds Archbishop Ramzi Garmou of Tehran of the Chaldeans, whose resignation from the same office was accepted by the Holy Father.
