Vatican City, 27 May 2016 – In a letter published today, written in Latin and dated 24 May, the Pope appoints Cardinal Norberto Rivera Carrera, archbishop of Mexico, as his special envoy at the concluding celebration of the bicentenary of the consecration of the Metropolitan Cathedral of Santiago de Guatemala, to be held during archdiocesan Eucharistic Congress in the Guatemala City from 31 May to 5 June 2016.

The mission accompanying the cardinal will be composed of Rev. Don Eddy René Calvillo Paz, archdiocesan chancellor, and Rev. Don José Luis Colmenares Samayoa, parish priest of the Cathedral.
