Vatican City, 31 March 2016 – The Holy Father has:

- appointed Rev. Fr. Enrique V. Macaraeg as bishop of Tarlac (area 3,053, population 1,294,000, Catholics 443,525, priests 47, permanent deacons 2, religious 136), Philippines. The bishop-elect was born in Manila, Philippines in 1955 and was ordained a priest in 1979. He holds a Master of Arts in oriental religions and cultures from the University of Santo Tomas Central Seminary, and has served in a number of roles including dean of seminarians, resident priest, parish vicar, professor and dean of studies at the philosophical seminary of Dagupan City, and director of the St. John Cathedral School, the Malasiqui Catholic School and the St. Charles Academy. He is currently pastor of the St. Ildephonse parish in Malasiqui, Pangasinan.

- appointed Bishop Basil Cho Kyu-man, auxiliary of the archdiocese of Seoul, Korea, as bishop of Wonju (area 8,186, population 835,802, Catholics 74,028, priests 88, religious 222), Korea. He succeeds Bishop Jacobus Kim Ji-Seok, whose resignation from the pastoral care of the same diocese upon reaching the age limit was accepted by the Holy Father.

- The Holy Father has appointed Professor Nino Savelli, ordinary at the Faculty of Science of Banking, Finance and Insurance of the Catholic University of Milan, as president of the managing board of the Vatican Pensions Fund.
