Vatican City, 1 March 2016 – The Office of Liturgical Celebrations of the Supreme Pontiff today announced that at 5 p.m. on Friday, 4 March in the Vatican Basilica the Holy Father will preside at the rite for the reconciliation of various penitents, with confession and individual absolution.

The celebration will begin the penitential initiative entitled "24 hours for the Lord", promoted by the Pontifical Council for Promoting New Evangelisation", which takes on a jubilee character this year and will, as usual, be experienced jointly with numerous dioceses throughout the world, on the eve of the fourth Sunday of Lent, Laetare Sunday.
