Si porta a conoscenza che la Libreria Editrice Vaticana, nella sua veste di editore ufficiale della Santa Sede, oltre al tradizionale obbligo di tutelare gli scritti ed i discorsi dei Sommi Pontefici e le pubblicazioni concernenti Atti della Santa Sede, ha ricevuto l'incarico di tutelare anche gli scritti del Cardinale Karol Wojtyla.
Non possono pertanto essere fatte pubblicazioni, traduzioni o riproduzioni in qualsiasi forma grafica o fonica dei Suoi scritti e dei Suoi discorsi senza l'esplicita autorizzazione della suddetta Libreria Editrice Vaticana, ai sensi degli accordi internazionali e delle leggi sui Diritti di Autore, e salvi i diritti precedentemente concessi. DECREE OF THE SECRETARY OF STATE, CARDINAL ANGELO SODANO, ENTRUSTING THE EXERCISE AND CUSTODY OF ALL DEEDS AND DOCUMENTS OF THE SUPREME PONTIFF AND THE HOLY SEE TO THE VATICAN PUBLISHING HOUSE
The Vatican Publishing House, as an Institution connected with the Holy See, has been entrusted with the exercise and custody, permanently and throughout the world, of every moral copyright and of all the exclusive financial rights - without any exception - over all the deeds and documents through which the Supreme Pontiff exercises his own Magisterium.
To discharge this office, the Vatican Publishing House, in the person of the Director and legal representative pro tempore, acts in the name and interests of the Holy See, with the authority to undertake any act for the disposition of the said rights, to initiate legal and judicial proceedings, to propose any action in order to ensure the full protection and realization of these rights and to resist any claim or request from third parties, in conformity with the norms of the international treaties and conventions to which the Holy See adheres.

COMMUNIQUÉ OF THE SECRETARY OF STATE, CARDINAL ANGELO SODANO, ENTRUSTING THE EXERCISE AND CUSTODY OF COPYRIGHT ROYALTIES FROM DEEDS, WORKS AND WRITINGS WRITTEN PRIOR TO THE PONTIFF'S ELECTION TO THE CHAIR OF PETER TO THE VATICAN PUBLISHING HOUSE
We make known that the Supreme Pontiff, Benedict XVI, has entrusted to the Vatican Publishing House the exercise and custody of all the copyright royalties and all the exclusive rights to the income from deeds, works and writings written prior to the Pontiff's election to the Chair of Peter.
Without prejudice to the rights acquired by third parties by virtue of previously-established contracts with the Author, from now on the exercise and custody of the copyrights in the contracts currently in force are entrusted to the Vatican Publishing House.
