Con paterna sollecitudine il Santo Padre Francesco ha continuato a seguire in questi mesi la situazione dell’amato Libano, definito da San Giovanni Paolo II “Paese Messaggio”, luogo in cui Benedetto XVI promulgò l’Esortazione Apostolica Post-Sinodale “Ecclesia in Medio Oriente”, e da sempre esempio della convivenza e fratellanza che il Documento per la Fratellanza Umana ha voluto offrire al mondo intero.
Il Paese dei Cedri, in questo anno centenario del “Grande Libano”, si trova in una grave crisi che sta generando sofferenza, povertà e rischia di “rubare la speranza” soprattutto alle giovani generazioni, che vedono faticoso il loro presente e incerto il loro futuro. In questo contesto, diventa sempre più difficile assicurare ai figli e alle figlie del popolo libanese l’accesso all’educazione che, soprattutto nei piccoli centri, è sempre stato garantito dalle Istituzioni ecclesiastiche.
Come segno tangibile di vicinanza, il Santo Padre, per il tramite della Segreteria di Stato e della Congregazione per le Chiese Orientali, ha stabilito di inviare alla Nunziatura Apostolica la somma di 200.000 USD per sostenere 400 borse di studio, nella speranza che si possa realizzare una alleanza di solidarietà e con l’auspicio che tutti gli attori nazionali ed internazionali perseguano responsabilmente la ricerca del bene comune, superando ogni divisione o interesse di parte.
Tale intervento, va ad aggiungersi al contributo che il Fondo di Emergenza CEC (Congregation for the Eastern Churches) ha in questi giorni elargito per far fronte all’emergenza legata alla pandemia da Covid-19.
La Madre di Dio, che veglia sul Libano dalla montagna di Harissa, protegga il popolo libanese, insieme ai santi dell’amato Paese dei Cedri.

Avec une paternelle sollicitude, Sa Sainteté le Pape François a continué à suivre ces derniers mois la situation du bien-aimé Liban, qualifié de ‘‘Pays Message’’ par saint Jean-Paul II, ce pays où Benoît XVI a promulgué l’Exhortation Apostolique Post-synodale ‘‘Ecclesia in Medio Oriente’’ et qui est depuis toujours un exemple de coexistence et de fraternité que le Document pour la Fraternité humaine a voulu offrir au monde.
Le pays des cèdres, en cette année centenaire du ‘‘Grand Liban’’, traverse une grave crise qui provoque souffrance, pauvreté et risque de ‘‘voler l’espérance’’, surtout aux jeunes générations, qui trouvent leur présent compromis et leur avenir incertain. Dans cette situation, il devient toujours plus difficile d’assurer aux fils et aux filles du peuple libanais l’accès à l’éducation qui, en particulier dans les petits centres, a toujours été offerte par des institutions ecclésiastiques.
Comme signe tangible de proximité, le Saint-Père, par l’intermédiaire de la Secrétairerie d’État et de la Congrégation pour les Églises Orientales, a décidé d’envoyer à la Nonciature Apostolique la somme de 200.000 USD pour attribuer 400 bourses d’études, dans l’espoir qu’une alliance de solidarité puisse se réaliser et en formant le vœu que tous les acteurs nationaux et internationaux poursuivent de manière responsable la recherche du bien commun, en surmontant toute division ou tout intérêt partisan.
Cette aide vient s’ajouter à la contribution que le Fonds d’Émergence CEC (Congregation for the Eastern Churches) a donnée ces jours-ci pour affronter l’urgence relative à la pandémie du Covid-19.
Avec les saints du bien-aimé pays des cèdres, puisse la Mère de Dieu, qui veille sur le Liban depuis la Montagne d’Harissa, protéger le peuple libanais!

His Holiness Pope Francis with fatherly concern has continued to follow in recent months the situation of beloved Lebanon, referred to by Saint John Paul II as the “Message Country”, the place where Benedict XVI promulgated the Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation Ecclesia in Medio Oriente, and that has always been an example of the coexistence and fraternity that the Document on Human Fraternity wished to offer to the whole world.
The Land of the Cedars, in this centenary year of “Greater Lebanon”, is experiencing a severe crisis that is causing suffering and poverty, and that risks “robbing of hope” especially younger generations who see their present as arduous and their future as uncertain. In this context, it is becoming increasingly difficult to ensure that the sons and daughters of the Lebanese people have access to education which, especially in smaller areas, has always been guaranteed by ecclesiastical institutions.
As a tangible sign of his closeness, the Holy Father, through the Secretariat of State and the Congregation for the Eastern Churches, has decided to send to the Apostolic Nunciature the sum of USD 200,000 to support 400 scholarships, in the hope of achieving a gesture of solidarity and with the desire that all involved at national and international levels will responsibly pursue the search for the common good, overcoming every division and partisan interest.
This intervention is in addition to the contribution that the Emergency Fund of the CEC (Congregation for the Eastern Churches) has made in recent days to deal with the emergency linked to the Covid-19 pandemic.
May the Mother of God, who watches over Lebanon from Harissa Mountain, protect the Lebanese people, together with the saints of the beloved Land of the Cedars.

إن بلد الأرز، في هذه الذكرى المئوية لـ "لبنان الكبير"، يمرّ بأزمة خطيرة تولّد المعاناة والفقر وتكاد "تسرق الرجاء"، وخاصّة من الأجيال الشابّة التي لا تجد في حاضرها إلّا الصعوبات ولا ترى في مستقبلها أيّ يقين. وفي هذا السياق، قد ازدات صعوبة ضمان حصول أبناء الشعب اللبناني وبناته على التعليم الذي تؤمّنه المؤسّسات الكنسية، وخاصّة في المدن الصغيرة.
وكبادرة ملموسة تعبّر عن قربه، قرّر الأب الأقدس، بواسطة أمانة سرّ الكرسي الرسوليّ ومجمع الكنائس الشرقية، إرسال مبلغ مئتي ألف دولار أمريكي إلى السفارة الباباوية، من أجل دعم أربع مئة منحة دراسية، آملًا أن يحقق هذا تحالفًا من التضامن، ومتمنيًا أن تتابعَ جميعُ الجهات الفاعلة الوطنية والدولية بمسؤولية السعيَ وراء الصالح العام، والتغلّب على أيّ انقسام أو مصلحة حزبيّة.
تنضمّ هذه اللفتة إلى المساهمة التي قدّمها صندوق الطوارئ لمجمع الكنائس الشرقية في الأيام الأخيرة من أجل مواجهة حالة الطوارئ المرتبطة بجائحة فيروس الكورونا.
ولتحفَظ والدةُ الله، التي تسهر على لبنان من جبل حريصا، الشعبَ اللبناني، مع قدّيسي بلد الأرز الحبيب.
