Intervento di Sua Eccellenza il Presidente dello Stato di Israele Shimon Peres

Intervento di Sua Eccellenza il Presidente dello Stato di Palestina Mahmoud Abbas

Alle ore 19 ha avuto luogo nei Giardini Vaticani l’iniziativa Invocazione per la pace alla quale il Santo Padre Francesco, nel corso del suo recente pellegrinaggio in Terra Santa, aveva invitato i Presidenti Shimon Peres e Mahmoud Abbas per chiedere il dono della pace fra i popoli Israeliano e Palestinese.

I Presidenti Shimon Peres e Mahmoud Abbas sono arrivati in Vaticano rispettivamente alle ore 18.15 e 18.30 circa e il Santo Padre li ha ricevuti all’ingresso della Domus Santa Marta, intrattenendosi per un breve colloquio, prima con l’uno e poi con l’altro.
Successivamente Papa Francesco e i due Presidenti si sono incontrati nella Hall di Santa Marta e si è unito a loro il Patriarca Ecumenico Bartolomeo I; insieme hanno raggiunto quindi in auto il luogo della celebrazione nei Giardini Vaticani dove li attendevano le rispettive Delegazioni.

L’incontro è iniziato con le seguenti parole:

"Il Signore vi conceda la pace!
Siamo convenuti in questo luogo, Israeliani e Palestinesi, Ebrei, Cristiani e Musulmani, per offrire la nostra preghiera per la pace, per la Terra Santa e per tutti i suoi abitanti".

L'incontro si è svolte in tre tempi, a cui è seguita una conclusione.
Ogni tempo è stato dedicato alla preghiera da parte di una delle tre comunità religiose, in ordine cronologico: Ebraica, Cristiana, Musulmana.
Ogni tempo è stato suddiviso in tre parti. La prima parte ha previsto un'espressione di lode a Dio per il dono della creazione, e per averci creato membri di una sola famiglia umana.
La seconda parte era una richiesta di perdono a Dio per aver mancato di comportarci come fratelli e sorelle; e per i peccati contro Dio e contro il nostro prossimo.
Nella terza parte si è elevata un'invocazione a Dio affinché conceda il dono della pace in Terra Santa e renda tutti capaci di essere costruttori di pace.
Ognuno di questi tre momenti è stata scandita da un breve intermezzo musicale. Una meditazione musicale più prolungata ha concluso ognuna delle tre parti principali.
Al termine, prima di scambiarsi una stretta di mano e piantare un piccolo albero di ulivo, quale segno del comune desiderio di pace fra il popolo Palestinese e il popolo Israeliano, hanno preso la parola Papa Francesco, il Presidente Shimon Peres ed il Presidente Mahmoud Abbas.

Signori Presidenti,

Santità,
fratelli e sorelle!

Con grande gioia vi saluto e desidero offrire a voi e alle distinte Delegazioni che vi accompagnano la stessa calorosa accoglienza che mi avete riservato nel mio pellegrinaggio appena compiuto in Terra Santa.

Vi ringrazio dal profondo del cuore per aver accettato il mio invito a venire qui per invocare insieme da Dio il dono della pace. Spero che questo incontro sia un cammino alla ricerca di ciò che unisce, per superare ciò che divide.

E ringrazio Vostra Santità, venerato Fratello Bartolomeo, per essere qui con me ad accogliere questi illustri ospiti. La Sua partecipazione è un grande dono, un prezioso sostegno, e testimonianza del cammino che come cristiani stiamo compiendo verso la piena unità.

La vostra presenza, Signori Presidenti, è un grande segno di fraternità, che compite quali figli di Abramo, ed espressione concreta di fiducia in Dio, Signore della storia, che oggi ci guarda come fratelli l’uno dell’altro e desidera condurci sulle sue vie.

Questo nostro incontro di invocazione della pace in Terra Santa, in Medio Oriente e in tutto il mondo è accompagnato dalla preghiera di tantissime persone, appartenenti a diverse culture, patrie, lingue e religioni: persone che hanno pregato per questo incontro e che ora sono unite a noi nella stessa invocazione. È un incontro che risponde all’ardente desiderio di quanti anelano alla pace e sognano un mondo dove gli uomini e le donne possano vivere da fratelli e non da avversari o da nemici.

Signori Presidenti, il mondo è un’eredità che abbiamo ricevuto dai nostri antenati, ma è anche un prestito dei nostri figli: figli che sono stanchi e sfiniti dai conflitti e desiderosi di raggiungere l’alba della pace; figli che ci chiedono di abbattere i muri dell’inimicizia e di percorrere la strada del dialogo e della pace perché l’amore e l’amicizia trionfino.

Molti, troppi di questi figli sono caduti vittime innocenti della guerra e della violenza, piante strappate nel pieno rigoglio. E’ nostro dovere far sì che il loro sacrificio non sia vano. La loro memoria infonda in noi il coraggio della pace, la forza di perseverare nel dialogo ad ogni costo, la pazienza di tessere giorno per giorno la trama sempre più robusta di una convivenza rispettosa e pacifica, per la gloria di Dio e il bene di tutti.

Per fare la pace ci vuole coraggio, molto di più che per fare la guerra. Ci vuole coraggio per dire sì all’incontro e no allo scontro; sì al dialogo e no alla violenza; sì al negoziato e no alle ostilità; sì al rispetto dei patti e no alle provocazioni; sì alla sincerità e no alla doppiezza. Per tutto questo ci vuole coraggio, grande forza d’animo.

La storia ci insegna che le nostre forze non bastano. Più di una volta siamo stati vicini alla pace, ma il maligno, con diversi mezzi, è riuscito a impedirla. Per questo siamo qui, perché sappiamo e crediamo che abbiamo bisogno dell’aiuto di Dio. Non rinunciamo alle nostre responsabilità, ma invochiamo Dio come atto di suprema responsabilità, di fronte alle nostre coscienze e di fronte ai nostri popoli. Abbiamo sentito una chiamata, e dobbiamo rispondere: la chiamata a spezzare la spirale dell’odio e della violenza, a spezzarla con una sola parola: "fratello". Ma per dire questa parola dobbiamo alzare tutti lo sguardo al Cielo, e riconoscerci figli di un solo Padre.

A Lui, nello Spirito di Gesù Cristo, io mi rivolgo, chiedendo l’intercessione della Vergine Maria, figlia della Terra Santa e Madre nostra.

Signore Dio di pace, ascolta la nostra supplica!

Abbiamo provato tante volte e per tanti anni a risolvere i nostri conflitti con le nostre forze e anche con le nostre armi; tanti momenti di ostilità e di oscurità; tanto sangue versato; tante vite spezzate; tante speranze seppellite… Ma i nostri sforzi sono stati vani. Ora, Signore, aiutaci Tu! Donaci Tu la pace, insegnaci Tu la pace, guidaci Tu verso la pace. Apri i nostri occhi e i nostri cuori e donaci il coraggio di dire: "mai più la guerra!"; "con la guerra tutto è distrutto!". Infondi in noi il coraggio di compiere gesti concreti per costruire la pace. Signore, Dio di Abramo e dei Profeti, Dio Amore che ci hai creati e ci chiami a vivere da fratelli, donaci la forza per essere ogni giorno artigiani della pace; donaci la capacità di guardare con benevolenza tutti i fratelli che incontriamo sul nostro cammino. Rendici disponibili ad ascoltare il grido dei nostri cittadini che ci chiedono di trasformare le nostre armi in strumenti di pace, le nostre paure in fiducia e le nostre tensioni in perdono. Tieni accesa in noi la fiamma della speranza per compiere con paziente perseveranza scelte di dialogo e di riconciliazione, perché vinca finalmente la pace. E che dal cuore di ogni uomo siano bandite queste parole: divisione, odio, guerra! Signore, disarma la lingua e le mani, rinnova i cuori e le menti, perché la parola che ci fa incontrare sia sempre "fratello", e lo stile della nostra vita diventi: shalom, pace, salam! Amen.

Your Holiness,
Brothers and Sisters,

I greet you with immense joy and I wish to offer you, and the eminent delegations accompanying you, the same warm welcome which you gave to me during my recent pilgrimage to the Holy Land.

I am profoundly grateful to you for accepting my invitation to come here and to join in imploring from God the gift of peace. It is my hope that this meeting will be a path to seeking the things that unite, so as to overcome the things that divide.

I also thank Your Holiness, my venerable Brother Bartholomaios, for joining me in welcoming these illustrious guests. Your presence here is a great gift, a much-appreciated sign of support, and a testimony to the pilgrimage which we Christians are making towards full unity.

Your presence, dear Presidents, is a great sign of brotherhood which you offer as children of Abraham. It is also a concrete expression of trust in God, the Lord of history, who today looks upon all of us as brothers and who desires to guide us in his ways.

This meeting of prayer for peace in the Holy Land, in the Middle East and in the entire world is accompanied by the prayers of countless people of different cultures, nations, languages and religions: they have prayed for this meeting and even now they are united with us in the same supplication. It is a meeting which responds to the fervent desire of all who long for peace and dream of a world in which men and women can live as brothers and sisters and no longer as adversaries and enemies.

Dear Presidents, our world is a legacy bequeathed to us from past generations, but it is also on loan to us from our children: our children who are weary, worn out by conflicts and yearning for the dawn of peace, our children who plead with us to tear down the walls of enmity and to set out on the path of dialogue and peace, so that love and friendship will prevail.

Many, all too many, of those children have been innocent victims of war and violence, saplings cut down at the height of their promise. It is our duty to ensure that their sacrifice is not in vain. The memory of these children instils in us the courage of peace, the strength to persevere undaunted in dialogue, the patience to weave, day by day, an ever more robust fabric of respectful and peaceful coexistence, for the glory of God and the good of all.

Peacemaking calls for courage, much more so than warfare. It calls for the courage to say yes to encounter and no to conflict: yes to dialogue and no to violence; yes to negotiations and no to hostilities; yes to respect for agreements and no to acts of provocation; yes to sincerity and no to duplicity. All of this takes courage, it takes strength and tenacity.

History teaches that our own powers do not suffice. More than once we have been on the verge of peace, but the evil one, employing a variety of means, has succeeded in blocking it. That is why we are here, because we know and we believe that we need the help of God. We do not renounce our responsibilities, but we do call upon God in an act of supreme responsibility before our consciences and before our peoples. We have heard a summons, and we must respond. It is the summons to break the spiral of hatred and violence, and to break it by one word alone: the word "brother". But to be able to utter this word we have to lift our eyes to heaven and acknowledge one another as children of one Father.

To him, the Father, in the Spirit of Jesus Christ, I now turn, begging the intercession of the Virgin Mary, a daughter of the Holy Land and our Mother.

Lord God of peace, hear our prayer!

We have tried so many times and over so many years to resolve our conflicts by our own powers and by the force of our arms. How many moments of hostility and darkness have we experienced; how much blood has been shed; how many lives have been shattered; how many hopes have been buried… But our efforts have been in vain. Now, Lord, come to our aid! Grant us peace, teach us peace; guide our steps in the way of peace. Open our eyes and our hearts, and give us the courage to say: "Never again war!"; "With war everything is lost". Instil in our hearts the courage to take concrete steps to achieve peace. Lord, God of Abraham, God of the Prophets, God of Love, you created us and you call us to live as brothers and sisters. Give us the strength daily to be instruments of peace; enable us to see everyone who crosses our path as our brother or sister. Make us sensitive to the plea of our citizens who entreat us to turn our weapons of war into implements of peace, our trepidation into confident trust, and our quarreling into forgiveness. Keep alive within us the flame of hope, so that with patience and perseverance we may opt for dialogue and reconciliation. In this way may peace triumph at last, and may the words "division", "hatred" and "war" be banished from the heart of every man and woman. Lord, defuse the violence of our tongues and our hands. Renew our hearts and minds, so that the word which always brings us together will be "brother", and our way of life will always be that of: Shalom, Peace, Salaam! Amen.

רבותיי הנשיאים,

בשמחה גדולה אני מקבל את פניכם ואת פני חברי המשלחות המכובדות המלוות אתכם וחפץ לקבלכם באותו סבר פנים בו קיבלתם אותי במהלך עלייתי לרגל לארץ הקודש אשר תמה לפני ימים ספורים.

אני מודה לכם ממעמקי ליבי על שקיבלתם את הזמנתי לבוא לכאן ולהתחנן יחדיו לאלוהים למתנת השלום. כולי תקווה שפגישה זו היא תחילתה של דרך חדשה בחיפוש אחר מה שמאחד, על מנת להתגבר על מה שמפריד.

אני מודה להוד קדושתו, אחי המכובד ברתולומאוס, אשר נמצא כאן לצדי על מנת לקבל את פני אורחים מכובדים אלה. השתתפותך היא מתנה יקרה, עזרה גדולה ועדות לדרך בה אנו, הנוצרים, הולכים לקראת אחדות מלאה.

נוכחותכם, רבותיי הנשיאים, היא אות גדול לאחווה, שאותה משיגים ילדיו של אברהם, וביטוי ממשי לאימון באלוהים, אדון ההיסטוריה, המביט בנו היום כבאחים זה לזה ורוצה להנחותינו בדרכיו.

פגישתנו למען בקשת השלום בארץ הקודש, במזרח התיכון ובעולם כולו, מלווה בתפילותיהם של אנשים כה רבים, מתרבויות, מולדות, לשונות ודתות שונות, אנשים שהתפללו בעבור פגישה זו ועתה מאוחדים עמנו באותה הבקשה. זוהי פגישה העונה על רצונם של כל העורגים לשלום וחולמים על עולם בו גברים ונשים יוכלו לחיות כאחים ולא כיריבים ואויבים.

רבותיי הנשיאים, העולם הוא ירושה שקיבלנו מאבותינו, אך בה בעת הוא הלוואה מילדנו: ילדים שעייפים ומותשים מעימותים וכמהים להגיע אל שחר השלום; ילדים המבקשים מאתנו לשבור את חומות האיבה וללכת בדרך הדיאלוג בעבור ניצחונן של האהבה והידידות.

כמו כן, רבים מדי מאותם ילדים נהיו לקורבנות חפים מפשע במלחמה ובאלימות, פרחים שנקטפו בשיא פריחתם. זוהי חובתנו להבטיח שקורבנם לא היה לשווא. זיכרונם נוטע בנו את האומץ לשלום, את הכוח להתמיד בדיאלוג בכל מחיר, את הסובלנות לשרטט, יום ביומו, את תולדותיו של דו-קיום בכוד ובשלום, לתפארת האלוהים ולטובת הכלל.

כדי לעשות שלום דרוש אומץ רב הרבה יותר מזה הדרוש לעשיית מלחמה. דרוש אומץ לומר כן למפגש ולא לעימות; כן לדיאלוג ולא לאלימות; כן למשא ומתן ולא לעויינות; כן לכיבוד ההסכמים ולא לפרובוקציות; כן לכנות ולא לצביעות. לכל אלה דרושים אומץ לב ותעצומות נפש רבות.  

ההיסטוריה מלמדת אותנו שאין די במאמצינו. יותר מפעם, היינו קרובים לשלום, אך עושה הרע (השטן) הצליח למנוע אותו בדרכים שונות. לכן אנחנו כאן, מכיוון שאנחנו יודעים ומאמינים שאנו זקוקים לעזרתו של האלוהים. אנחנו לו זונחים את מחויבותנו, אלא קוראים לאלוהים מתוך מחויבות עליונה כלפי המצפון שלנו וכלפי עמינו. אנחנו שמענו קריאה ועלינו לענות: הקריאה לשבור את מעגל השנאה והאלימות, לשבור אותה במילה אחת: "אח". אך כדי לומר מילה זו, עלינו להרים את עינינו למרומים, להכיר אחד בשני כבנים לאב אחד.

לו, ברוחו של ישוע המשיח, אני קורא, ומבקש את תפילתה של מרים הבתולה, בת ארץ הקודש ואמנו.

ה' אלוהי השלום, שמע תפילתנו!

במשך שנים ארוכות ניסינו פעמים כה רבות לפתור את הסכסוכים שלנו באמצעות כוחותינו ואף בכלי הנשק שלנו; זמנים רבים של עויינות ואפלה; שפיכות דמים כה רבה; חיים כה רבים אשר התנפצו; תקוות כה רבות אשר נקברו ... אך לשווא. עתה ה', עזור לנו אתה! אתה הענק לנו שלום, אתה למדנו שלום, אתה תנהיגנו אל השלום. פתח את עינינו ולבבינו לתת לנו את האומץ לומר: "די למלחמה!", "המלחמה הורסת הכול!" חזק בקרבנו את האומץ לקיים מעשים ממשיים להשכנת שלום. ה', אלוהי אברהם והנביאים, אלוהי האהבה אשר ברא אותנו וקרא לנו לחיות כאחים וכאחיות, הענק לנו את הכוח להיות רודפי שלום בכל יום תמיד; הענק לנו את היכולת להביט בחיבה אל כל אחד מאחינו, אותם אנו פוגשים בדרכינו. עשינו מסוגלים להקשיב לבכיים של אזרחינו, המבקשים להפוך את כלי הנשק שלנו לכלי שלום, את פחדנו לאמון ואת המתחים שלנו למחילה.  הבער בליבנו את אש התקווה לנקוט בהתמדה ובסבלנות בצעדים לקראת דיאלוג ופיוס, כדי שלבסוף השלום ינצח. ושמלב כל אדם תגורשנה המילים הללו: מחלוקת, שנאה, מלחמה! ה', פרוק את לשוננו וידינו מנשקן. חדש את לבבינו ושכלנו, מי ייתן והמילה המובילה אותנו למפגש זה בזה תהיה "אח" ואורח חיינו יהיה: שלום (בעברית), פאצ'ה (שלום באיטלקית), סאלאם (בערבית)! אמן.

أحييكم بفرح كبير وأود أن أقدم لكما وللوفدين الكريمين اللذين يرافقانكم ذات الاستقبال الحار الذي خصّيتماني به خلال حجي الذي أتممته للتو إلى الأرض المقدسة.

أشكركما من صميم القلب على قبولكما دعوتي للمجيء هنا كي نبتهل معًا من الله عطية السلام. وآمل أن يمثّل هذا اللقاء مسيرة بحث عمّا يوحّد، بغية تخطّي ما يفرّق.

وأشكر قداستكم، أيها الأخ الموقّر برتلماوس، لحضوركم هنا معي لاستقبال هذين الضيفين الكريمين. إن مشاركتكم هي هبة كبيرة، ودعم ثمين، وشهادة للمسيرة التي نقوم بها كمسيحيين نحو الوحدة التامة.

يشكل حضوركما، أيها السيدان الرئيسان، علامة كبيرة للأخوّة، ولتلك الإخوة التي تسعيان لتحقيقها كأبناء لإبراهيم، وكتعبير ملموس عن الثقة بالله، رب التاريخ، والذي ينظر إلينا اليوم كأخوة بعضنا لبعض، ويرغب في إرشادنا للسير على دروبه.

ترافق لقائنا هذا لابتهال السلام في الأرض المقدسة والشرق الأوسط والعالم بأسره، صلاةُ العديد من الأشخاص المنتمين إلى ثقافات وأوطان ولغات وديانات مختلفة: أشخاص صلّوا من أجل هذا اللقاء وها هم الآن متحدون معنا من أجل ابتهال السلام. إنه لقاء يستجيب للرغبة المتّقدة لدى مَنْ يتوقون إلى السلام، ويحلمون بعالم يعيش فيه الرجال والنساء كأخوة لا كخصوم أو أعداء.

أيها السيدان الرئيسان، إن العالم هو إرث نلناه من آبائنا، لكنه أيضا قرض من أبنائنا: أبناء تعبوا وأُرهقوا بسبب الصراعات ويرغبون ببلوغ فجر السلام؛ أبناء يطلبون منا أن نهدم جدران العداوة وأن نسير في درب الحوار والسلام كي تنتصر المحبة والصداقة.

كثيرون للغاية هم الأبناء الذين سقطوا كضحايا بريئة للحرب والعنف، إنهم كزرع سُلخ في أوج نموه. من واجبنا أن نعمل كي لا تذهب تضحيتهم سدى. إن ذكراهم تبث في داخلنا شجاعة السلام، وقوة المثابرة في الحوار مهما كان الثمن والصبر اللازم لننسج يوما بعد يوم شبكة قوية من التعايش السلمي والمتّصف بالاحترام، من أجل مجد الله وخير الجميع.

صنع السلام يتطلب شجاعة تفوق بكثير شجاعة خوض الحروب. نحتاج إلى الشجاعة لنقول نعم للقاء ولا للصدام؛ نعم للحوار ولا للعنف؛ نعم للتفاوض ولا للعداوة؛ نعم لاحترام المعاهدات ولا للاستفزازات؛ نعم للصدق ولا للازدواجية. هذا كله يتطلب شجاعة ومواظبة كبيرة.

يعلّمنا التاريخ أن قوانا وحدها ليست كافية. لقد اقتربنا من السلام أكثر من مرة، لكن الشر نجح في الحيلولة دون ذلك بوسائل مختلفة. لذا نحن هنا، لأننا نعرف ونؤمن بأننا نحتاج إلى عون الله. إننا لا نتخلى عن مسؤولياتنا، بل نتضرع إلى الله كضرب من المسؤولية السامية أمام ضمائرنا، وأمام شعبينا. لقد سمعنا نداءً، وينبغي أن نستجيب له: نداء من أجل كسر حلقة الحقد والعنف، كسرها بكلمة واحدة، ألا وهي: "أخ". لكن كي نقول هذه الكلمة لا بد أن نرفع كلنا أنظارنا نحو السماء، ونعي أننا أبناء لآب واحد.

أتوجهُ إليه، بروح يسوع المسيح، طالبا شفاعة العذراء مريم، ابنة الأرض المقدسة وأمنا.

إيها الرب، إله السلام، اسمع تضرعاتنا!

لقد حاولنا مرات كثيرة، ولسنوات كثيرة أن نحل صراعاتنا بواسطة جهودنا، وحتى من خلال أسلحتنا؛ لحظات كثيرة من العداوة والظلام؛ دماء كثيرة سُفكت؛ أرواح كثيرة هُدرت؛ آمال كثيرة دُفنت ... لكن جهودنا كانت بلا جدوى. الآن ساعدنا أنت يا رب! هبنا أنت السلام، علّمنا أنت السلام، قدنا أنت نحو السلام. افتح عيوننا وقلوبنا وهبنا شجاعة القول "لا للحرب مطلقا!"؛ "بالحرب يُدمّر كل شيء!". ابعث في داخلنا شجاعة القيام بأعمال ملموسة من أجل بناء السلام. أيها الرب، إله إبراهيم والأنبياء، يا إله المحبة الذي خلقتنا وتدعونا للعيش كأخوة، أعطنا القوة لنكون كل يوم صانعي السلام؛ أعطنا القدرة على النظر بإحسان إلى كل الأخوة الذين نلتقي بهم على دربنا. اجعلنا مستعدين للإصغاء إلى صرخة مواطنينا الذين يطلبون منا أن نحوّل أسلحتنا إلى أدوات سلام ومخاوفنا إلى ثقة وتوتراتنا إلى غفران. ابقِ شعلة الرجاء متّقدة بداخلنا كي نتخذ بمثابرة صبورة خيارات الحوار والمصالحة، لينتصر السلام أخيرا. ولتمحى من قلب كل إنسان هذه الكلمات: انقسام، حقد، حرب! يا رب جرّد اللسان واليدين من السلاح، جدد القلوب والعقول، كي تكون الكلمة التي تجعلنا نلتقي كلمة "أخ"، ويصبح نمط حياتنا: شالوم، باشيه، سلام! آمين.

Avec grande joie, je vous salue et je désire vous offrir à vous et aux distinguées délégations qui vous accompagnent, le même accueil chaleureux que vous m’avez réservé lors du pèlerinage que je viens d’effectuer en Terre Sainte.

Je vous remercie du fond du cœur pour avoir accepté mon invitation à venir ici afin d’invoquer ensemble de Dieu le don de la paix. J’espère que cette rencontre sera un chemin à la recherche de ce qui unit, pour dépasser ce qui divise.

Et je remercie Votre Sainteté, vénéré Frère Bartholomée, d’être ici avec moi pour accueillir ces hôtes illustres. Votre participation est un grand don, un soutien précieux et un témoignage du chemin que, comme chrétiens, nous parcourons vers la pleine unité.

Votre présence, Messieurs les Présidents, est un grand signe de fraternité, que vous accomplissez en tant que fils d’Abraham, et une expression concrète de confiance en Dieu, Seigneur de l’histoire, qui nous regarde aujourd’hui comme frères l’un de l’autre et désire nous conduire sur ses voies.

Cette rencontre d’invocation de la paix en Terre Sainte, au Moyen Orient et dans le monde entier, est accompagnée par la prière de très nombreuses personnes, appartenant à diverses cultures, patries, langues et religions : des personnes qui ont prié pour cette rencontre et qui, maintenant, sont unies à nous dans la même invocation. C’est une rencontre qui répond à l’ardent désir de tous ceux qui aspirent à la paix et rêvent d’un monde où les hommes et les femmes puissent vivre en frères et non comme des adversaires ou des ennemis.

Messieurs les Présidents, le monde est un héritage que nous avons reçu de nos ancêtres, mais c’est aussi un prêt de nos enfants : des fils qui sont fatigués et épuisés par les conflits et désireux de parvenir à l’aube de la paix ; des fils qui nous demandent d’abattre les murs de l’inimitié et de parcourir la route du dialogue et de la paix afin que l’amour et l’amitié triomphent.

Beaucoup, trop de ces fils sont tombés, victimes innocentes de la guerre et de la violence, plantes arrachées en pleine vigueur. C’est notre devoir de faire en sorte que leur sacrifice ne soit pas vain. Que leur mémoire infuse en nous le courage de la paix, la force de persévérer dans le dialogue à tout prix, la patience de tisser jour après jour la trame toujours plus solide d’une cohabitation respectueuse et pacifique, pour la gloire de Dieu et le bien de tous.

Pour faire la paix, il faut du courage, bien plus que pour faire la guerre. Il faut du courage pour dire oui à la rencontre et non à l’affrontement ; oui au dialogue et non à la violence ; oui à la négociation et non aux hostilités ; oui au respect des accords et non aux provocations ; oui à la sincérité et non à la duplicité. Pour tout cela, il faut du courage, une grande force d’âme.

L’histoire nous enseigne que nos forces ne suffisent pas. Plus d’une fois, nous avons été proches de la paix, mais le malin, par divers moyens, a réussi à l’empêcher. C’est pourquoi nous sommes ici, parce que nous savons et nous croyons que nous avons besoin de l’aide de Dieu. Nous ne renonçons pas à nos responsabilités, mais nous invoquons Dieu comme un acte de suprême responsabilité, face à nos consciences et face à nos peuples. Nous avons entendu un appel, et nous devons répondre : l’appel à rompre la spirale de la haine et de la violence, à la rompre avec une seule parole : « frère ». Mais pour prononcer cette parole, nous devons tous lever le regard vers le Ciel, et nous reconnaître enfants d’un seul Père.

C’est à Lui que je m’adresse, dans l’Esprit de Jésus-Christ, demandant l’intercession de la Vierge Marie, fille de la Terre Sainte et notre Mère :

Seigneur Dieu de paix, écoute notre supplication !

Nous avons essayé tant de fois et durant tant d’années de résoudre nos conflits avec nos forces et aussi avec nos armes ; tant de moments d’hostilité et d’obscurité ; tant de sang versé ; tant de vies brisées, tant d’espérances ensevelies… Mais nos efforts ont été vains. A présent, Seigneur, aide-nous Toi ! Donne-nous Toi la paix, enseigne-nous Toi la paix, guide-nous Toi vers la paix. Ouvre nos yeux et nos cœurs et donne-nous le courage de dire : ‘‘plus jamais la guerre’’ ; ‘‘avec la guerre tout est détruit !’’. Infuse en nous le courage d’accomplir des gestes concrets pour construire la paix. Seigneur, Dieu d’Abraham et des Prophètes, Dieu Amour qui nous a créés et nous appelle à vivre en frères, donne-nous la force d’être chaque jour des artisans de paix ; donne-nous la capacité de regarder avec bienveillance tous les frères que nous rencontrons sur notre chemin. Rends-nous disponibles à écouter le cri de nos concitoyens qui nous demandent de transformer nos armes en instruments de paix, nos peurs en confiance et nos tensions en pardon. Maintiens allumée en nous la flamme de l’espérance pour accomplir avec une patiente persévérance des choix de dialogue et de réconciliation, afin que vainque finalement la paix. Et que du cœur de chaque homme soient bannis ces mots : division, haine, guerre ! Seigneur, désarme la langue et les mains, renouvelle les cœurs et les esprits, pour que la parole qui nous fait nous rencontrer soit toujours « frère », et que le style de notre vie devienne : shalom, paix, salam ! Amen.

Ich danke Ihnen aus tiefstem Herzen, dass Sie meine Einladung angenommen haben, hierher zu kommen und gemeinsam von Gott das Geschenk des Friedens zu erflehen. Ich hoffe, dass diese Begegnung ein Weg auf der Suche nach dem sei, was eint, um das zu überwinden, was trennt.

Und ich danke Eurer Heiligkeit, verehrter Bruder Bartholomäus, dass Sie hier bei mir sind, um diese bedeutenden Gäste zu empfangen. Ihre Teilnahme ist ein großes Geschenk, eine wertvolle Unterstützung und ein Zeugnis für den Weg, den wir als Christen auf die volle Einheit hin beschreiten.

Ihre Anwesenheit, meine Herren Präsidenten, ist ein großes Zeichen der Brüderlichkeit, das Sie als Söhne Abrahams vollziehen, und ein Ausdruck konkreten Vertrauens auf Gott, den Herrn der Geschichte, der heute auf uns schaut als auf Menschen, die einander Brüder sind, und uns auf seine Wege führen möchte.

Diese unsere Begegnung zur Bitte um den Frieden im Heiligen Land, im Nahen Osten und in der ganzen Welt wird begleitet vom Gebet unzähliger Menschen, die verschiedenen Kulturen, Heimatländern, Sprachen und Religionen angehören – Menschen, die für diese Begegnung gebetet haben und die jetzt mit uns in der flehentlichen Bitte selbst vereint sind. Es ist eine Begegnung, die dem brennenden Wunsch all derer entspricht, die sich nach dem Frieden sehnen und von einer Welt träumen, in der Männer und Frauen als Geschwister leben können und nicht als Gegner oder als Feinde.

Meine Herren Präsidenten, die Welt ist ein Erbe, das wir von unseren Vorfahren empfangen haben, aber sie ist auch eine Leihgabe unserer Kinder – Kinder, die müde und erschöpft sind von den Konflikten und danach verlangen, den Anbruch des Friedens zu erreichen; Kinder, die uns bitten, die Mauern der Feindschaft niederzureißen und den Weg des Dialogs und des Friedens zu beschreiten, damit Liebe und Freundschaft triumphieren.

Viele, allzu viele dieser Kinder sind unschuldige Opfer von Krieg und Gewalt geworden – Pflanzen, die in voller Blüte ausgerissen wurden. Es ist unsere Pflicht, dafür zu sorgen, dass ihr Opfer nicht vergeblich sei. Möge die Erinnerung an sie uns den Mut zum Frieden einflößen, die Kraft, um jeden Preis beharrlich den Dialog fortzusetzen, die Geduld, Tag für Tag das immer festere Netz eines respekt- und friedvollen Zusammenlebens zu knüpfen, zur Ehre Gottes und zum Wohl aller.

Um Frieden zu schaffen, braucht es Mut, sehr viel mehr, als um Krieg zu führen. Es braucht Mut, um Ja zu sagen zur Begegnung und Nein zur Auseinandersetzung; Ja zum Dialog und Nein zur Gewalt; Ja zur Verhandlung und Nein zu Feindseligkeiten; Ja zur Einhaltung der Abmachungen und Nein zu Provokationen; Ja zur Aufrichtigkeit und Nein zur Doppelzüngigkeit. Für all das braucht es Mut, eine große Seelenstärke.

Die Geschichte lehrt uns, dass unsere Kräfte nicht ausreichen. Mehr als einmal waren wir dem Frieden nahe, doch dem Bösen ist es mit verschiedenen Mitteln gelungen, ihn zu verhindern. Deshalb sind wir hier, denn wir wissen und glauben, dass wir der Hilfe Gottes bedürfen. Wir lassen nicht von unseren Verantwortlichkeiten ab, sondern wir rufen Gott an als Akt höchster Verantwortung unserem Gewissen und unseren Völkern gegenüber. Wir haben einen Ruf vernommen, und wir müssen antworten – den Ruf, die Spirale des Hasses und der Gewalt zu durchbrechen, sie zu durchbrechen mit einem einzigen Wort: „Bruder". Doch um dieses Wort zu sagen, müssen wir alle den Blick zum Himmel erheben und uns als Söhne des einen Vaters erkennen.

An ihn wende ich mich im Geist Jesu Christi und bitte zugleich um die Fürsprache der Jungfrau Maria, Tochter des Heiligen Landes und unsere Mutter.

Herr, Gott des Friedens, erhöre unser Flehen!

Viele Male und über viele Jahre hin haben wir versucht, unsere Konflikte mit unseren Kräften und auch mit unseren Waffen zu lösen; so viele Momente der Feindseligkeit und der Dunkelheit; so viel vergossenes Blut; so viele zerbrochene Leben; so viele begrabene Hoffnungen… Doch unsere Anstrengungen waren vergeblich. Nun, Herr, hilf Du uns! Schenke Du uns den Frieden, lehre Du uns den Frieden, führe Du uns zum Frieden! Öffne unsere Augen und unsere Herzen, und gib uns den Mut zu sagen: „Nie wieder Krieg!"; „Mit dem Krieg ist alles zerstört!" Flöße uns den Mut ein, konkrete Taten zu vollbringen, um den Frieden aufzubauen. Herr, Gott Abrahams und der Propheten, Du Gott der Liebe, der Du uns erschaffen hast und uns rufst, als Brüder zu leben, schenke uns die Kraft, jeden Tag Baumeister des Friedens zu sein; schenke uns die Fähigkeit, alle Mitmenschen, denen wir auf unserem Weg begegnen, mit wohlwollenden Augen zu sehen. Gracias desde el fondo de mi corazón por haber aceptado mi invitación a venir aquí para implorar de Dios, juntos, el don de la paz. Espero que este encuentro sea un camino en busca de lo que une, para superar lo que divide.

Y gracias a Vuestra Santidad, venerado hermano Bartolomé, por estar aquí conmigo para recibir a estos ilustres huéspedes. Su participación es un gran don, un valioso apoyo y testimonio de la senda que, como cristianos, estamos siguiendo hacia la plena unidad.

Su presencia, Señores Presidentes, es un gran signo de fraternidad, que hacen como hijos de Abraham, y expresión concreta de confianza en Dios, Señor de la historia, que hoy nos mira como hermanos uno de otro, y desea conducirnos por sus vías.

Para conseguir la paz, se necesita valor, mucho más que para hacer la guerra. Se necesita valor para decir sí al encuentro y no al enfrentamiento; sí al diálogo y no a la violencia; sí a la negociación y no a la hostilidad; sí al respeto de los pactos y no a las provocaciones; sí a la sinceridad y no a la doblez. Para todo esto se necesita valor, una gran fuerza de ánimo.

La historia nos enseña que nuestras fuerzas no son suficientes. Más de una vez hemos estado cerca de la paz, pero el maligno, por diversos medios, ha conseguido impedirla. Por eso estamos aquí, porque sabemos y creemos que necesitamos la ayuda de Dios. No renunciamos a nuestras responsabilidades, pero invocamos a Dios como un acto de suprema responsabilidad, de cara a nuestras conciencias y de frente a nuestros pueblos. Hemos escuchado una llamada, y debemos responder: la llamada a romper la espiral del odio y la violencia; a doblegarla con una sola palabra: «hermano». Pero para decir esta palabra, todos debemos levantar la mirada al cielo, y reconocernos hijos de un solo Padre.

A él me dirijo yo, en el Espíritu de Jesucristo, pidiendo la intercesión de la Virgen María, hija de Tierra Santa y Madre nuestra.

Agradeço-vos do fundo do coração por terdes aceite o meu convite para vir aqui a fim de, juntos, implorarmos de Deus o dom da paz. Espero que este encontro seja um caminho à procura do que une para superar aquilo que divide.

E agradeço a Vossa Santidade, venerado Irmão Bartolomeu, por estar aqui comigo a acolher estes hóspedes ilustres. A sua participação é um grande dom, um apoio precioso e testemunho do caminho que estamos a fazer, como cristãos, rumo à plena unidade.

A vossa presença, Senhores Presidentes, é um grande sinal de fraternidade, que realizais como filhos de Abraão, e expressão concreta de confiança em Deus, Senhor da história, que hoje nos contempla como irmãos um do outro e deseja conduzir-nos pelos seus caminhos.

Muitos, demasiados destes filhos caíram vítimas inocentes da guerra e da violência, plantas arrancadas em pleno vigor. É nosso dever fazer com que o seu sacrifício não seja em vão. A sua memória infunda em nós a coragem da paz, a força de perseverar no diálogo a todo o custo, a paciência de tecer dia após dia a trama cada vez mais robusta de uma convivência respeitosa e pacífica, para a glória de Deus e o bem de todos.

Para fazer a paz é preciso coragem, muita mais do que para fazer a guerra. É preciso coragem para dizer sim ao encontro e não à briga; sim ao diálogo e não à violência; sim às negociações e não às hostilidades; sim ao respeito dos pactos e não às provocações; sim à sinceridade e não à duplicidade. Para tudo isto, é preciso coragem, grande força de ânimo.

A história ensina-nos que as nossas forças não bastam. Já mais de uma vez estivemos perto da paz, mas o maligno, com diversos meios, conseguiu impedi-la. Por isso estamos aqui, porque sabemos e acreditamos que necessitamos da ajuda de Deus. Não renunciamos às nossas responsabilidades, mas invocamos a Deus como acto de suprema responsabilidade perante as nossas consciências e diante dos nossos povos. Ouvimos uma chamada e devemos responder: a chamada a romper a espiral do ódio e da violência, a rompê-la com uma única palavra: «irmão». Mas, para dizer esta palavra, devemos todos levantar os olhos ao Céu e reconhecer-nos filhos de um único Pai.

A Ele, no Espírito de Jesus Cristo, me dirijo, pedindo a intercessão da Virgem Maria, filha da Terra Santa e Mãe nossa:

Senhor Deus de Paz, escutai a nossa súplica!

Tentámos tantas vezes e durante tantos anos resolver os nossos conflitos com as nossas forças e também com as nossas armas; tantos momentos de hostilidade e escuridão; tanto sangue derramado; tantas vidas despedaçadas; tantas esperanças sepultadas... I have come from the Holy City of Jerusalem to thank you for your exceptional invitation. The Holy City of Jerusalem is the beating heart of the Jewish People. In Hebrew, our ancient language, the word Jerusalem and the word for peace share the same root. And indeed peace is the vision of Jerusalem.

As it is said in the Book of Psalms:

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:

"May those who love you be secure.

7 May there be peace within your walls    and security within your citadels."

⁸ For the sake of my family and friends, 

I will say, "Peace be within you."

⁹ For the sake of the house of the Lord our God,

I will seek your prosperity.

During your historic visit to the Holy Land, you moved us with the warmth of your heart, the sincerity of your intentions, your modesty, and your kind ways. You touched the people’s hearts – regardless of their faith or nation. You emerged as a bridge-builder of brotherhood and peace.We are all in need of the inspiration which accompanies your character and your way.

Thank you.

Two peoples – Israelis and Palestinians – still are aching for peace. The tears of mothers over their children are still etched in our hearts. We must put an end to the cries, to the violence, to the conflict. We all need peace. Peace between equals.

Your invitation to us to join you in this momentous ceremony to call for peace, here in the Vatican garden, in the presence of Jewish, Christian, Muslim, and Druze leaders,graciously reflects your vision of the aspiration we all share: Peace.

On this moving occasion, brimming with hope and full of faith, let us all raise with you, Your Holiness, a call for peace between religions, between nations, between communities, and between fellow men and women. Let true peace become our legacy soon and swiftly.

Our Book of Books commands upon us the way of peace, demands of us to toil for its realization.

It is said in the book of Proverbs:

"Her ways are ways of grace, and all her paths are peace."

So too must our ways be. Ways of grace and peace. It is not by chance that Rabbi Akiva captured the essence of our Torah in one sentence: "Love your neighbor like thyself." We are all equal before the Lord. We are all part of the human family. For without peace, we are not complete, and we have yet to achieve the mission of humanity.

Peace does not come easy. We must toil with all our strengths to reach it. To reach it soon. Even if it requires sacrifice or compromise.

The Book of Psalms tells us:

"Whoever loves life and desires to see many good days, keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies. Turn from evil and do good, seek peace and pursue it."

This is to say, we are commanded to pursue after peace. All year. Every day. We greet each other with this blessing. Shalom. Salam. We must be worthy of the deep and demanding meaning of this blessing. Even when peace seems distant, we must pursue it to bring it closer.

And if we pursue peace with perseverance, with faith, we will reach it.

And it will endure through us, through all of us, of all faiths, of all nations, as it is written:

"They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore."

The soul is elated upon the reading of these verses of eternal vision. And we can – together and now, Israelis and Palestinians – convert our noble vision to a reality of welfare and prosperity. It is within our power to bring peace to our children. This is our duty, the holy mission of parents.

Let me end with a prayer:

He who makes peace in the heavens shall make peace upon us and upon all of Israel, and upon the entire world, and let us say Amen.

Sono venuto dalla Città Santa di Gerusalemme per ringraziarvi per questo vostro invito eccezionale. La Città Santa di Gerusalemme è il cuore pulsante del popolo ebraico. In ebraico, la nostra lingua antica, la parola Gerusalemme e la parola "pace" hanno la stessa radice. E infatti pace è la visione stessa di Gerusalemme.

Come si legge nel Libro dei Salmi (122, 6-9):

"Chiedete pace per Gerusalemme.

Vivano sicuri quelli che ti amano.

Sia pace nelle tue mura

sicurezza nei tuoi palazzi.

Per i miei fratelli e i miei amici

Io dirò: "Su di te sia pace".

Per la casa del Signore nostro Dio,

chiederò per te il bene".

Durante la Sua storica visita alla Terra Santa, Lei ci ha toccato con il calore del Suo cuore, la sincerità delle Sue intenzioni, la Sua modestia, la Sua gentilezza. Lei ha toccato i cuori della gente – indipendentemente dalla sua fede e nazionalità. Lei si è presentato come un costruttore di ponti di fratellanza e di pace. Noi tutti abbiamo bisogno dell’ispirazione che accompagna il suo carattere e il suo cammino.

Grazie.

Due popoli – gli israeliani e i palestinesi – desiderano ancora ardentemente la pace. Le lacrime delle madri sui loro figli sono ancora incise nei nostri cuori. Noi dobbiamo mettere fine alle grida, alla violenza, al conflitto. Noi tutti abbiamo bisogno di pace. Pace fra eguali.

Il Suo invito a unirsi a Lei in questa importante cerimonia per chiedere la pace, qui nei Giardini Vaticani, alla presenza di autorità Ebree, Cristiane, Musulmane e Druse, riflette meravigliosamente la Sua visione dell’aspirazione che tutti condividiamo: Pace.

In questa commovente occasione, traboccanti di speranza e pieni di fede, eleviamo con Lei, Santità, una invocazione per la pace fra le religioni, le nazioni, le comunità, fra uomini e donne. Che la vera pace diventi nostra eredità presto e rapidamente.

Il nostro Libro dei Libri ci impone la via della pace, ci chiede di adoperarci per la sua realizzazione.

Dice il Libro dei Proverbi: "Le sue vie sono vie di grazia, e tutti i suoi sentieri sono pace".

Così devono essere le nostre vie. Vie di grazia e di pace. Non è per caso che Rabbi Akiva ha colto l’essenza della nostra Legge con una sola frase: "Ama il tuo prossimo come te stesso". Noi tutti siamo uguali davanti al Signore. Noi siamo tutti parte della famiglia umana. Perciò, senza pace noi non siamo completi e dobbiamo ancora compiere la missione dell’umanità.

La pace non viene facilmente. Noi dobbiamo adoperarci con tutte le nostre forze per raggiungerla. Per raggiungerla presto. Anche se ciò richiede sacrifici o compromessi.

Il Libro dei Salmi ci dice: "Se ami la vita e desideri vedere lunghi giorni, trattieni la tua lingua dal male e le tue labbra dalla menzogna. Allontànati dal male e fa il bene, cerca la pace e perseguila".

Questo significa, che dobbiamo perseguire la pace. Ogni l’anno. Ogni giorno. Noi ci salutiamo con questa benedizione: Shalom, Salam. Noi dobbiamo essere degni del significato profondo ed esigente di questa benedizione. Anche quando la pace sembra lontana, noi dobbiamo perseguirla per renderla più vicina.

E se noi perseguiamo la pace con perseveranza, con fede, noi la raggiungeremo.

Ed essa durerà grazie a noi, a tutti noi, di tutte le fedi, di tutte le nazioni, come è stato scritto: "Essi trasformeranno le loro spade in aratri e le loro lance in falci. Un popolo non alzerà più la spada contro un altro popolo e non si eserciteranno più nell’arte della guerra".

L’anima s’innalza alla lettura di questi versi di visione eterna. E noi possiamo – insieme e ora, israeliani e palestinesi – trasformare la nostra nobile visione in una realtà di benessere e prosperità. E’ in nostro potere portare la pace ai nostri figli. Questo è il nostro dovere, la missione santa dei genitori.

Lasciatemi concludere con una preghiera:

Colui che fa la pace nei cieli faccia pace su di noi e su tutto Israele e sul mondo intero, e diciamo: Amen.

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

قداسة الحبر الأعظم،

فخامة الرئيس شمعون بيريز،

أصحاب الغبطة،

السيدات والسادة،

إنه لشرف كبير لنا أن نلتقي مجدداً مع قداسة البابا فرنسيس، تلبية لدعوته الكريمة، ولنسعد بهذا الحضور الروحي النبيل ونستمع لآرائه وحكمته الناصعة والصافية، لأنها نابعة من قلب سليم وضمير حي، وحس أخلاقي وديني رفيع، وإنني لأشكر قداستكم من صميم قلبي على مبادرتكم بالدعوة لهذا اللقاء الهام، هنا في حاضرة الفاتيكان، ونقدر عالياً زيارتكم لنا في في الأراضي المقدسة في فلسطين، وخاصة مدينة القدس الشريف ومدينة بيت لحم مدينة المحبة والسلام، ومهد المسيح عليه السلام، لأنها بحد ذاتها تعبير صادق عن إيمانكم بالسلام، والسعي لتحقيقه بين الشعبين الفلسطيني والإسرائيلي.

اللهم إنا نحمدك ونسبحك يا من جعلت القدس لنا بوابة إلى السماء، فقلت في قرآنك الكريم: " سبحان الذي أسرى بعبده ليلاً من المسجد الحرام إلى المسجد الأقصى الذي باركنا حوله"، وجعلت شد الرحال إليها والصلاة فيها من أقرب القربات إليك، وأفضل الأعمال عندك، ومنحتنا وعدك الصادق فيها بقولك الحق " وليدخلوا المسجد كما دخلوه أول مرة" صدق الله العظيم .

فاللهم، مبدع السماوات والأرض، يا رحمن الدنيا والآخرة، اقبل دعائي من أجل إحقاق الحق والعدل وإحلال السلام في وطني فلسطين وسائر بلاد الشرق الأوسط والعالم.

 

أدعوك يا الله، باسم شعبي الفلسطيني، بمسلميه ومسيحييه وسامرييه، التائقين إلى السلام والعيش بكرامة وحرية في وطنهم السيد المستقل، أن تجعل مستقبل شعبنا زاهراً وعيشه رغيداً واعداً، وهب ربوع منطقتنا وسائر شعوبها الأمن والآمان والاستقرار، واحفظ القدس مدينتنا المباركة، أرض المحشر والمنشر، التي جعلتها لنا أولى القبلتين وثاني المسجدين وثالث الحرمين الشريفين، وجعلت البركة والسلام فيها وفيما حولها.  

فالصلح والسلم يا ربي هو غايتنا، وما أمرتنا به، في محكم تنزيلك:

 " وأصلحوا ذات بينكم" وها نحن يا الله نجنح للسلم العادل، فثبت خطانا، وكلل جهودنا ومساعينا بالنجاح، فأنت الآمر بالصلح والناهي عن الشر والعدوان في قولك وأنت أصدق القائلين " وإن جنحوا للسلم فاجنح لها وتوكل على الله، إنه هو السميع العليم"، وفي قول نبيك صلى الله عليه وسلم: "أفشوا السلام بينكم"

ونردد خلف سيدنا المسيح عيسى مخاطباً القدس:

" لَيْتَكِ عَرَفْتِ أنتِ أيضاً في هذا اليومِ طَريقَ السَّلامْ"

ونستذكر قول قداسة البابا يوحنا بولس الثاني:

 "فإن عمَّ السلام في القدس، عمَّ السلام في العالم بأسره"

ونكرر مع الداعين " طوبى لصانعي السلام"،

وما جاء في الكتب المقدسة  " اطلبوا السلام للقدس"

 

نسألك، ربنا، السلام للأرض المقدسة فلسطين وللقدس وأهلها، ندعوك ربنا أن تجعلها أرضاً ومدينة آمنة مطمئنة لكل صاحب دين وتقىً، وموئلاً للصلاة والعبادة لأتباع الديانات السماوية الثلاث، اليهودية والمسيحية والإسلامية، ولكل راغب في زيارتها، تقديساً لها وطلباً لبركتها التي نطق بها قرآنك الكريم.

 

ربنا أنت السلام ومنك السلام، يا ذا الجلال والإكرام  امنحنا  الأمن والأمان، وخفف عن أبناء شعبنا، في الوطن والشتات، عذاباتهم وآلامهم.

ربنا اجعل السلام الشامل والعادل يحل علينا وعلى ربوع منطقتنا، لينعم شعبنا وشعوب الشرق الأوسط والمعمورة أجمع بثمار السلام والاستقرار، والعيش المشترك.

نريد السلام لنا ولجيراننا، والإزدهار والطمأنينة لنا ولغيرنا على حدّ سواء، واجعل دعاءنا هذا مستجاباً وأنجح مساعينا،  يا أعدل العادلين وأرحم الراحمين، يا رب العالمين.

Ladies and Gentlemen

 

 

 

 

It is indeed a great honor for us to meet again with His Holiness Pope Francis in fulfillment of his kind invitation to relish his spiritual and noble presence, and listen to his opinion and crystal wisdom, which emanate from a sound heart, vibrant conscience, as well as an elevated ethical and religious sense. I thank your Holiness from the bottom of my heart for initiating this important gathering here in the Vatican. Simultaneously, we highly appreciate your visit to the Holy Land Palestine,  and in specific to our Holy city Jerusalem and to Bethlehem; the city of love and peace, and the cradle of Jesus Christ. The visit is a sincere expression of your belief in peace and a truthful attempt to achieve peace between Palestinians and Israelis.

Oh God, we ever praise you for making Jerusalem our gate to heaven. As said in the Holy Quran,

"Glory to Him who made His servant travel by night from the sacred place of worship to the furthest place of worship, whose surroundings We have blessed." You made pilgrimage and prayer in it as the best acts the faithful can make in your praise, and made your truthful promise in your say: "Let them enter the Masjid as they did for the first time."  God Almighty has spoken the truth.

O, Lord of Heaven and Earth, accept my prayer for the realization of truth, peace and justice in my country Palestine, the region, and the globe as a whole.

I beseech You, O Lord, on behalf of my people, the people of Palestine - Moslems, Christians and Samaritans - who are craving for a just peace, dignified living, and liberty, I beseech you, Oh Lord, to make prosperous and promising the future of our people, and freedom in our sovereign and independent state; Grant, O Lord, our region and its people security, safety and stability. Save our blessed city Jerusalem; the first Kiblah, the second Holy Mosque, the third of the two Holy Mosques, and the city of blessings and peace with all that surround it.

Reconciliation and peace, O Lord, are our goal. God in His Holy Book has addressed the faithful: "Make peace among you,"  Here we are, O God, inclined to peace. Make firm our steps and crown our efforts and endeavors with success. You are the promoter of virtue and preventer of vice, evil and aggression. You say and you are the most truthful, "And if they incline to peace, incline thou also to it, and trust in Allah. Lo! He is the Hearer, the Knower." In the saying of Prophet Muhammad, " Spread the peace among you. "

Today, we reiterate after Jesus Christ addressing Jerusalem: "If only you had known the path of peace this day" (Luke 19:42). As well let us remember the words of Saint John Paul II when he said:"If peace is realized in Jerusalem, peace will be witnessed in the whole world" Simultaneously, in our prayer today, we repeatedly call after those who advocate peace: "Blessed are the peace makers," and "Call for the peace of Jerusalem"  as came in the Holy Scrptures.

Accordingly, we ask You, O Lord, for peace in the Holy Land, Palestine, and Jerusalem together with its people. We call on you to make Palestine and Jerusalem in particular  a secure land for all the believers, and a place for prayer and worship for the followers of the three monotheistic religions Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and for all those wishing to visit it as it is stated in the Holy Quran.

O Lord, You are the peace and peace emanates from You. O God of Glory and Majesty grant us security and safety, and alleviate the suffering of my people in hometown and Diaspora.

O Lord, bring comprehensive and just peace to our country and region so that our people and the peoples of the Middle East and the whole world would enjoy the fruit of peace, stability and coexistence.

We want peace for us and for our neighbors. We seek prosperity and peace of mind for ourselves and for others alike. O Lord, answer our prayers and make successful our endeavors for you are most just, most merciful, Lord of the Worlds.

E’ davvero un grande onore per noi incontrarci di nuovo con Sua Santità il Papa Francesco a compimento del suo gentile invito a gustare la sua spirituale e nobile presenza, e ascoltare il suo pensiero e la sua saggezza cristallina, che promanano da un cuore sano, da una coscienza vibrante, come pure da un elevato senso etico e religioso. Io ringrazio Vostra Santità dal più profondo del cuore per aver intrapreso questo importante incontro qui in Vaticano. Allo stesso tempo, noi apprezziamo moltissimo la Vostra visita nella Terra Santa Palestina, e specificamente nella nostra città santa Gerusalemme e a Betlemme; la città dell’amore e della pace, e la culla di Gesù Cristo. La visita è un’espressione sincera della Vostra fede nella pace e un tentativo credibile per raggiungere la pace fra i palestinesi e gli israeliani.

O Dio, noi ti lodiamo sempre per aver fatto di Gerusalemme la nostra porta per il cielo. Come dice il Santo Corano, "Gloria a Lui, che ha fatto che il Suo servo viaggiasse di notte dal luogo sacro dell’adorazione al più alto luogo dell’adorazione, i cui dintorni Noi abbiamo benedetto". Tu hai reso il pellegrinaggio e la preghiera in questo luogo gli atti migliori che i fedeli possono compiere in tuo onore, e hai espresso la tua promessa fedele con le parole: "Entrino nel Masjid come hanno fatto per la prima volta". Dio Onnipotente ha detto la verità.

O, Dio del Cielo e della Terra, accetta la mia preghiera per la realizzazione della verità, della pace e della giustizia nella mia patria la Palestina, nella regione, e nel mondo intero.

Ti supplico, O Signore, in nome del mio popolo, il popolo della Palestina – musulmani, cristiani e samaritani – che desidera ardentemente una pace giusta, una vita degna e la libertà; ti supplico, O Signore, di rendere il futuro del nostro popolo prospero e promettente, con libertà in uno stato sovrano e indipendente. Concedi, O Signore, alla nostra regione e al suo popolo sicurezza, salvezza e stabilità. Salva la nostra città benedetta Gerusalemme; la prima Kiblah, la seconda Santa Moschea, la terza delle due Sante Moschee, e la città delle benedizioni e della pace con tutto ciò che la circonda.

Riconciliazione e pace, O Signore, sono la nostra meta. Dio, nel Suo Libro Santo ha detto ai fedeli: "Fate pace fra voi!" Noi siamo qui, Signore, orientati verso la pace. Rende fermi i nostri passi e corona di successo i nostri sforzi e le nostre iniziative. Tu sei il promotore della virtù e colui che previene il vizio, il male e l’aggressione. Tu parli e tu sei il più veritiero, "E se essi si inclinano verso la pace, inclinati anche tu verso di essa, e abbi fiducia in Allah. Ecco! Egli è colui che ascolta, colui che conosce". Come dice il Profeta Muhammad, "Diffondete la pace fra voi".

Oggi, noi ripetiamo ciò che Gesù Cristo dice rivolgendosi a Gerusalemme: "Se tu avessi conosciuto oggi la via della pace!" (Luca 19,42). Ricordiamo pure le parole di San Giovanni Paolo II, quando disse: "Se la pace si realizza a Gerusalemme, la pace sarà testimoniata nel mondo intero". E allo stesso tempo, nella nostra preghiera di oggi, abbiamo ripetutamente proclamato per coloro che si impegnano per la pace: "Beati gli operatori di pace!"; e "Chiedete pace per Gerusalemme" come si dice nelle Sacre Scritture.

Perciò noi Ti chiediamo, Signore, la pace nella Terra Santa, Palestina, e Gerusalemme insieme con il suo popolo. Noi ti chiediamo di rendere la Palestina e Gerusalemme in particolare una terra sicura per tutti i credenti, e un luogo di preghiera e di culto per i seguaci delle tre religioni monoteistiche - Ebraismo, Cristianesimo, Islam - e per tutti coloro che desiderano visitarla come è stabilito nel sacro Corano.

O Signore, tu sei la pace e la pace promana da te. O Dio di Gloria e di Maestà donaci sicurezza e salvezza, e allevia la sofferenza del mio popolo nella patria e nella diaspora.

O Signore, porta una pace comprensiva e giusta al nostro Paese e alla regione cosicché il nostro popolo e i popoli del Medio Oriente e il mondo intero possano godere il frutto della pace, della stabilità e della coesistenza.

Noi desideriamo la pace per noi e i nostri vicini. Noi cerchiamo la prosperità e pensieri di pace per noi come per gli altri. O Signore, rispondi alle nostre preghiere e dà successo alle nostre iniziative perché tu sei il più giusto, il più misericordioso, Signore dei mondi.
