COMUNICATO STAMPA DEL PONTIFICIO CONSIGLIO PER IL DIALOGO INTERRELIGIOSO Inizia questa mattina, 4 novembre, e durerà fino a giovedì 6 novembre il 1° Seminario organizzato dal Forum Cattolico-Musulmano (Catholic-Muslim Forum), istituito dal Pontificio Consiglio per il Dialogo Interreligioso e da esponenti musulmani a seguito della Lettera aperta indirizzata il 13 ottobre 2007 a Sua Santità Benedetto XVI e ad altri Capi di Chiese e Comunità ecclesiali da 138 personalità musulmane e della risposta data il 19 novembre 2007, a nome del Santo Padre, dall’Em.mo Cardinale Segretario di Stato.
Il Seminario ha per tema "Amore di Dio; amore del prossimo", che sarà sviluppato secondo due linee di approfondimento: il primo giorno sarà dedicato ai "fondamenti teologici e spirituali", mentre il secondo giorno sarà centrato su "dignità della persona umana e mutuo rispetto". Su ciascuno di questi due sotto-temi sarà presentata una relazione da parte cattolica ed una da parte musulmana, che saranno di base per i successivi dibattiti.
Per il terzo giorno è prevista l’Udienza del Santo Padre ai partecipanti al Seminario. Nel pomeriggio, alle ore16.30, presso la Pontificia Università Gregoriana, avrà luogo una sessione pubblica durante la quale sarà resa nota la Dichiarazione comune approvata al termine delle sessioni. Inoltre, interverranno sul Seminario un rappresentante musulmano ed uno cattolico, i quali potranno rispondere ad eventuali domande attinenti allo stesso Seminario.
Parteciperanno all’incontro, per ciascuna parte, 29 persone tra esperti, autorità religiose e consiglieri.

[The First Seminar organised by the Catholic-Muslim Forum will begin this morning, 4 November, and last until Thursday 6 November. The Forum was established by the Pontifical Council for Inter-religious Dialogue and by Muslim representatives in the wake of the Open Letter sent on 13 October 2007 to His Holiness Benedict XVI and to other heads of Churches and ecclesial Communities by 138 Muslim leaders, and of the reply, sent by the Cardinal Secretary of State in the Holy Father's name on 19 November 2007.
The theme of the Seminar - "Love of God, Love of Neighbour" - will be tackled from two main standpoints: the first day will be dedicated to "theological and spiritual fundamentals", while the second day will focus on "the dignity of the human person and mutual respect". The Catholic and Muslim sides will both deliver reports on each of these sub-themes, and their statements will then be the basis for the subsequent debates.
On the third day the participants in the Seminar are scheduled to be received in audience by the Holy Father. At 4.30 p.m. that afternoon a public session will be held in the Pontifical Gregorian University for the presentation of the Joint Declaration approved during the course of meeting. A Muslim and a Catholic representative will be present to answer any questions concerning the Seminar.
Each of the two sides in the meeting will be composed of 29 people, including experts, religious authorities and advisers.]
