GLOBALIZATION: HUMAN PERSPECTIVES

The purpose of the round-table is

1. To raise other related issues such as

a) how globalization is impacting on ordinary people and contributing to increase inequality;

b) how ethics and principles of human and social development can be brought into the process of globalization;

2. To make suggestions for the organization of the next general assembly of the Academy in 2001. Participants, notably President Betancur and Prof. Dasgupta, members of the Academy, as well as Msgr. Martin, Prof. Goulet, Prof. Zamagni, Prof. Bernal Restrepo and Mr. Bjorkman, will be invited to introduce the discussions.
