Liturgical Celebrations of Christmas Time 2023-2024 to be presided over by the Holy Father Francis, 12.12.2023

SOLEMNITY OF THE NATIVITY OF THE LORD

Papal Chapel

Saint Peter’s Basilica, 19.30

The Holy Father Francis will preside over midnight Mass on the Solemnity of the Nativity of the Lord.

The Eucharistic Celebration will be preceded by the preparation and singing of the Kalenda.

The Patriarchs, Cardinals, Archbishops and Bishops who wish to concelebrate with the Holy Father are requested to be in the Chapel of Saint Sebastian by 19:00 to put on their liturgical vestments, bringing with them: for Cardinals and Patriarchs, the white damask mitre; Archbishops and Bishops, the white mitre.

The Presbyters who wish to concelebrate with the Holy Father, provided with the appropriate ticket, issued by the Office for the Liturgical Celebrations of the Supreme Pontiff through the procedure indicated at https://biglietti.liturgiepontificie.va, subject to availability of places, must be present at the Braccio di Costantino by 18.30, bringing with them their amice, surplice, cincture and white stole.

All those who, in accordance with the Motu Proprio "Pontificalis Domus" compose the Papal Chapel and who, having received the required Notification via celebrazioni@celebra.va, wish to participate in the liturgical celebration without concelebrating, are requested to be at the Altar of the Confessio by 19:00, wearing their proper choral habit, to occupy the place which will be indicated to them by the Pontifical Masters of Ceremonies.

The Holy Father Francis will celebrate the First Vespers of the Solemnity of Mary Mother of God, to be followed by the traditional singing of the “Te Deum” hymn, to mark the end of the civil year.

The Patriarchs, Cardinals, Archbishops and Bishops, and all those who, in accordance with the Motu Proprio “Pontificalis Domus”, compose the Papal Chapel, bringing the Notification required via celebrazioni@celebra.va, wish to participate in the liturgical celebration, wearing the proper choral habit, are requested to be at the Altar of the Confessio by 16.30 to occupy the place which will be indicated to them by the Pontifical Masters of Ceremonies.
