Credential Letters of the Ambassador of Albania to the Holy See, 21.10.2023

This morning, in the Vatican Apostolic Palace, the Holy Father Francis received in audience Her Excellency Ms. Majlinda Frangaj, ambassador of Albania to the Holy See, on the occasion of the presentation of her credential letters.

The following is a brief biography of the new ambassador:

Her Excellency Ms. Majlinda Frangaj was born on 5 July 1972.

She graduated in political sciences, specializing in international relations (University of Perugia). She was subsequently awarded a master’s degree in international human rights protection (La Sapienza University of Rome) and a master’s degree in Community affairs and innovation policy, specializing in international cooperation (European Institute for Training and Orientation, Rome). She is a lecturer in comparative law of religions, as well as in Islamic and African Law, at the University of Perugia Faculty of Political Sciences.

She has held the following roles: journalist and producer in the programming department, TV Klan (2000 - 2005); service in various positions, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2007 - 2010); first Secretary and Consul (2010 - 2012); Minister Counsellor and Consul (2012 - 2014); Minister Plenipotentiary and Chargé d'Affaires ad interim (2014 - 2015); Minister Plenipotentiary (2015 - 2017); and Minister Plenipotentiary and Chargé d'Affaires ad interim (2017 - 2023) of the Embassy of Albania to the Holy See.
