The Holy Father has appointed Archbishop Paolo Borgia, titular of Milazzo, until now apostolic nuncio in Cote d’Ivoire, as apostolic nuncio in Lebanon.

Appointment of auxiliary bishop of Ełk, Poland

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Dariusz Zalewski, of the clergy of the diocese of Ełk, Poland, parish priest of Blessed Karolina Kózkówna in Ełk and director of the diocesan office for consecrated life, as auxiliary bishop of the same diocese, assigning him the titular see of Hólar.

Curriculum vitae

Msgr. Dariusz Zalewski was born on 29 January 1974 in Augustów, diocese of Ełk, After studying philosophy and theology at the major seminary of Ełk, he was ordained a priest on 20 May 2000 for the same diocese.

After priestly ordination he served as vicar of the parish of Saint Nicholas in Mikołajki (2000-2001). In 2010 he was awarded a doctorate in patristics and patrology from the Augustinianum Patristic Institute in Rome.

He has held the following offices: notary of the episcopal Curia, spokesperson of the same Curia and lecturer in patrology and Latin at the major seminary (2008-2010); vice chancellor of the Curia, head of university pastoral care and prefect of the preparatory seminary (2010-2012); and spiritual father of the major seminary (2014-2019). Since 2016 he has served as parish priest of Blessed Karolina Kózkówna in Ełk and, since 2019, director of the diocesan office for consecrated life.
