The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the diocese of Bissau, Guinea-Bissau, presented by Bishop José Câmnate na Bissign.

The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the diocese of Mostar-Duvno and of the apostolic administrator ad nutum Sanctae Sedis of Trebinje-Mrkan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, presented by Bishop Ratko Perić.

The Pope has appointed as bishop of the diocese of Mostar-Duvno and apostolic administrator of Trebnje-Mrkan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bishop Petar Palić of Hvar, Croatia.

 

Appointment of coadjutor of the metropolitan archdiocese of Split-Makarska, Croatia

The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Dražen Kutleša of Poreč i Pula as coadjutor archbishop of the metropolitan archdiocese of Split-Makarska, Croatia.

Bishop Dražen Kutleša

Bishop Dražen Kutleša was born on 25 September 1968 in Tomislavgrad, diocese of Mostar-Duvno. After attending the minor seminary in Dubrovnik, he continued his philosophical and theological studies n the major seminary of Sarajevo.

He was ordained a priest on 29 June 1993 for the diocese of Mostar-Duvno.

In 2001 he was awarded a doctorate in canon law at the Pontifical Urban University.

From 1993 to 1005 he was parish vicar of the Cathedral of Mostar. In the years 1998 to 2006 he held the following roles: parish administrator of Grude, lecturer in canon law at the Theological Institute of Mostar, vice-chancellor of the diocesan Curia, and member of the college of consultors and of the presbyteral council. From 2006 to 2011 he served as official of the Congregation for Bishops, and since 2011, also as collaborator of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments.

On 17 October 2011 he was appointed as coadjutor bishop of the diocese of Poreč i Pula and received episcopal consecration the following 10 December, whereas on 14 June 2012 he became diocesan bishop. Within the Croatian Episcopal Conference he is a member of the Permanent Council, president of the Commission for Relations with the State and president of the Legal Commission.
