Appointment of vicar apostolic of Jolo, Philippines

The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Fr. Charlie M. Inzon, provincial superior of the Oblate Missionaries of Mary Immaculate, as vicar apostolic of the vicariate of Jolo, Philippines.

Reverend Fr. Charlie M. Inzon, O.M.I.

The Reverend Fr. Charlie M. Inzon O.M.I., was born on 24 November 1965 in Putiao, in the diocese of Sorsogon. From 1988 to 1993 he studied philosophy at Notre Dame University, Cotabato City, and from 1993 to 1994 theology at Loyola School of Theology of the Ateneo de Manila University, Quezon City, obtaining his master's degree. From 2002 to 2008 he continued his studies at the same Institute, obtaining a doctorate in Psychology.

He entered the Congregation of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate in 1982 and made his perpetual profession on 8 September 1990.

He was ordained a priest on April 24, 1993 in Coloocan City.

Since priestly ordination he has held the following positions: chaplain of Notre Dame College, Jolo (1993-1995); head of the missionary station of Batu-Batu, Tawi-Tawi (1995-1998); parish vicar of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Bangong Barrio, Caloocan City (1998-1999); parish vicar of the Sto. Niño parish, Madsayap, Cotabato (1999-2000); director of O.M.I. College Seminary, Quezon City (2000-2007); director of Research at Notre Dame College, Jolo (2007-2010); chaplain of Notre Dame College, Jolo (2008-2010); dean of the Graduate School of Notre Dame College, Jolo (2009-2010); president of Notre Dame College, Jolo (2010-2014); president of Notre Dame University, Cotabato (2014-2018); and provincial superior of O.M.I. (since 2018).

 

Appointment of auxiliary of Trujillo, Peru

The Holy Father has appointed as titular bishop of Putia in Byzacena and auxiliary of the archdiocese of Trujillo, Peru, the Reverend Francisco Castro Lalupú, of the clergy of the same archdiocese, episcopal vicar for economic and administrative affairs and parish vicar of the Santo Toribio de Mogrovejo parish, of the Cathedral.

Reverend Francisco Castro Lalupú

The Reverend Francisco Castro Lalupú was born on 13 August 1973 in the district of Bellavista-Sullana, archdiocese of Piura. He began his priestly formation at the San Juan María Vianney seminary of the archdiocese of Piura and concluded it at the San Carlos y San Marcelo seminary of the archdiocese of Trujillo. He was awarded a baccalaureate in theology from the Regina Apostolorum Institute in Rome (2004). He was ordained a priest on 6 June 2004 for the archdiocese of Trujillo.

He has served in the following roles in parishes: parish administrator of the Santiago Apóstol parish (2004); parish administrator of the San José parish (2005); parish priest of the Santo Toribio de Mogrovejo parish (2006-2010); head of the Chapel of Santa Ana (2015-2018); parish vicar of the Santo Toribio de Mogrovejo parish of the Cathedral of Trujillo (2018 to date).

He also held the following offices: councillor of the Department for the Family (2006-2008); deputy administrator of the archbishopric of Trujillo (2007-2009); professor of the San Carlos y San Marcelo major seminary of Trujillo (2007-2009); administrator of the archbishopric of Trujillo (2009-2016); counsellor of the Pastoral Department of Acolytes (2011-2014); and, from 2016 to the present day, episcopal vicar for Economic and Administrative Affairs of the archdiocese of Trujillo; member of the Episcopal Council of the archdiocese of Trujillo; delegate of the Catholic University Association of Trujillo; representative of the Promotion of the Pius XII Educational Institution; Representative of the Promotion of the Una Sonrisa de Amor Educational Institution; and director of the San Carlos y San Marcelo seminary of Trujillo.
