On 28 November 2019, the Holy Father Francis received in audience His Eminence Cardinal Angelo Becciu, prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints. During the audience, the Supreme Pontiff authorized the Congregation to promulgate the Decrees regarding:
- the miracle attributed to the intercession of Blessed Luigi Maria Palazzolo, priest, founder of the Institute of the Sisters of the Poor – Palazzolo Institute; born on 10 December 1827 in Bergamo, Italy, and died there on 15 June 1886;
- the miracle attributed to the intercession of the Venerable Servant of God Olinto Marella, diocesan priest; born on 14 June 1882 in Pellestrina, Italy, and died on 6 September 1969 in San Lazzaro di Savena, Italy;
- the miracle attributed to the intercession of the Venerable Servant of God Giuseppe Ambrosoli, professed priest of the Combonian Missionaries of the Heart of Jesus; born in Ronago, Italy on 25 July 1923 and died on 27 March 1987 in Lira, Uganda;
- the martyrdom of the Servants of God Cayetano Giménez Martín and fifteen companions, priests and laypersons, killed in hatred of the Faith during the civil war in Spain, in 1936;
- the martyrdom of the Servant of God Giovanni Francesco Macha, diocesan priest, born on 18 January 1914 in Chorzów, Poland, and killed in hatred of the faith in Katowice, Poland, on 3 December 1942;
- the heroic virtues of the Servant of God Ovide Charlebois, of the Congregation of the Oblate Misionaries of Mary Immaculate, titular bishop of Berenice, vicar apostolic of Keewatin; born on 17 February 1862 in Oka, Canada, and died on 20 November 1933 in Le Pas, Canada;
- the heroic virtues of the Servant of God Georg Michael Wittmann, titular bishop of Miletopoli and auxiliary of Regensburg; born on 22 January 1760 in Finkenhammer, Germany, and died on 8 March 1833 in Regensburg, Germany;
- the heroic virtues of the Servant of God Olinto Fedi, diocesan priest, founder of the Congregation of the Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate; born on 3 October 1841 in Signa, Italy, and died there on 23 January 1923;
- the heroic virtues of the Servant of God Giacomo Bulgaro, professed religious of the Order of Friars Minor Conventual; born on 29 January 1879 in Corticelle di Pieve, Italy, and died on 27 January 1967 in Brescia, Italy;
- the heroic virtues of the Servant of God Giovanni Maria Battista Solimani (née Maria Antonia), nun, founder of the Romite Nuns of Saint John the Baptist; born on 12 May 1688 in Genoa, Italy, and died there on 8 April 1758;
- the heroic virtues of the Servant of God Ana de Jesús de Lobera (née Ana), professed nun of the Order of Discalced Carmelites; born on 25 November 1545 in Medina del Campo, Spain, and died on 4 March 1621 in Brussels, Belgium.
