Appointment of metropolitan archbishop of Tours, France
The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Vincent Jordy of Saint-Claude as metropolitan archbishop of Tours, France.
Archbishop-elect Vincent Jordy was born on 20 January 1961 in Perpignan, in the diocese of the same name. After obtaining a licentiate at the state university of Strasbourg, in the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences, he entered the Pontifical French Seminary in Rome. He attended courses in philosophy and theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University, concluding with a bachelor’s degree in theology.
He was ordained a priest on 28 June 1992 for the archdiocese of Strasbourg.
He has held the following roles in the archdiocese of Strasbourg: chaplain of the episcopal College of Zillisheim and parish vicar of Altkirch (1992-1996); spiritual director of the major seminary (1997-2000); rector of the seminary (2000-2008) and, at the same time, since 2007, head of the communication services of the archdiocese.
He was elected titular bishop of Idassa and appointed as auxiliary of Strasbourg on 19 September 2008, and was consecrated the following 11 November. On 22 July 2011 he was transferred to the episcopal see of Saint-Claude.
Within the French Episcopal Conference he is president of the Episcopal Commission for Catechesis and the Catechumenate.

The Holy Father has appointed as apostolic nuncio in the Arab Republic of Egypt and delegate to the League of Arab States His Excellency Archbishop Nicolas Henry Marie Denis Thevenin, titular of Eclano and currently apostolic nuncio in Guatemala.

The Holy Father has appointed as member of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints Bishop Guerino Di Tora, titular of Zuri and auxiliary of the diocese of Rome.
Appointment of advisors to the Apostolic Penitentiary
The Holy Father has appointed as counsellors of the Apostolic Penitentiary the Reverend Fr. Paolo Benanti, T.O.R., lecturer at the Pontifical Gregorian University, and the Reverend Don Marco Panero, S.D.B., lecturer at the Pontifical Salesian University in Rome.
