The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the metropolitan archdiocese of Seattle, United States of America, presented by His Excellency Archbishop James Peter Sartain. He is succeeded by His Excellency Archbishop Paul Dennis Etienne, currently coadjutor of the same archdiocese.
Appointment of apostolic nuncio, titular archbishop of Milazzo
The Holy Father has appointed as titular archbishop of Milazzo the Reverend Msgr. Paolo Borgia, currently assessor for General Affairs of the Secretariat of State, at the same time entrusting to him the office of apostolic nuncio.
The Reverend Msgr. Paolo Borgia was born in Manfredonia, Foggia on 18 March 1966. He was ordained a priest on 10 April 1999 and incardinated in the diocese of Manfredonia-Vieste-San Giovanni Rotondo. He holds a degree in canon law.
He entered the Holy See diplomatic service on 1 December 2001, and has served in the Pontifical Representations in the Central African Republic, Mexico, Israel, and Lebanon; in the Section for Relations with States of the Secretariat of State and in the Section for General Affairs of the same Secretariat of State.
He was appointed as assessor for General Affairs of the Secretariat of State on 4 March 2016.

Appointment of apostolic nuncio, titular archbishop of Skálholt
The Holy Father has appointed as titular archbishop of Skálholt the Reverend Msgr. Antoine Camilleri, currently under-secretary for Relations with States of the Secretariat of State, at the same time entrusting to him the office of apostolic nuncio.
The Reverend Msgr. Antoine Camilleri was born in Sliema, Malta on 20 August 1965. He was ordained a priest on 5 July 1991 and incardinated in Malta. He graduated in jurisprudence and canon law.
He entered the Holy See diplomatic service on 9 January 1999, and has served in the Pontifical Representations in Papua New Guinea, Uganda and Cuba, and in the Section for Relations with States of the Secretariat of State.
He was appointed as under-secretary of the Section for Relations with States of the Secretariat of State on 22 February 2013.
He knows Italian, English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Romanian and Russian.

The Holy Father has appointed as titular archbishop of Mesembria the Reverend Msgr. Paolo Rudelli, currently Holy See Special Envoy and Permanent Observer at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, at the same time entrusting to him the office of apostolic nuncio.
The Reverend Msgr. Paolo Rudelli was born in Gazzaniga, Italy on 16 July 1970. He was ordained a priest on 10 June 1995 and incardinated in Bergamo. He holds a licentiate in canon law and a degree in moral theology.
He entered the Holy See diplomatic service on 1 July 2001, and has served in the Pontifical Representations in Ecuador and Poland, and in the Section for General Affairs of the Secretariat of State.
He was appointed as special envoy with functions of Permanent Observer at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg on 20 September 2014.
