The Holy Father Francis has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the diocese of Drohiczyn, Poland, presented by H.E. Msgr. Tadeusz Pikus.
The Pope has appointed as bishop of the diocese of Drohiczyn, Poland, H.E. Msgr. Piotr Sawczuk, transferring him from the titular see of Ottana and the office of auxiliary of Siedlce.

The Holy Father has appointed as eparchial bishop of Nossa Senhora do Paraíso em São Paulo of the Greek Melkites, Brazil the Rev. Georges Khoury, currently parish priest of São Basílio and Nossa Senhora do Perpétuo Socorro in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The bishop-elect was born in 1970 in Safita, province of Tartus, Syria, and was ordained a priest in 1999. He holds a licentiate in Sacred Scripture from the Claretian University Centre of Brazil. He has held a number of pastoral roles, including parish priest of the cathedral of the eparchy of São Paulo, and parish vicar and parish priest of São Basílio and Nossa Senhora do Perpétuo Socorro in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
