From Monday 10 to Thursday June 13, 2019, the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development will hold an international seminar entitled “Catholic civil aviation chaplains and members of the airport chaplaincy at the service of integral human development”, to be attended by around 90 representatives of airport chaplaincies and religious and lay pastoral agents, representing 92 Catholic airport chaplaincies.

The main themes will be: the apostolate at the airport through the concrete presence of buildings used as chapels, the aspects of this specific apostolate from the point of view of interreligious and ecumenical dialogue, the labour protection of airport operators and the reception and assistance of passengers in conditions of particular vulnerability or poverty.

The Holy Father will receive the participants in audience at the Apostolic Palace on Monday 10 and the meeting will end on Thursday 13 with the Holy Mass presided over by Cardinal Turkson, president of the Dicastery, at the Altar of St. John Paul II in the Vatican Basilica.
