Most Reverend Diocesan Administrator
Archdiocese of Campinas

Pope Francis, deeply saddened by the dramatic attack that took place during the celebration of Holy Mass in the Cathedral of the Archdiocese of Campinas, entrusts the victims to God’s mercy and assures his solidarity and spiritual comfort to the families who have lost their loved ones, and to the entire archdiocesan community, with hopes for the swift recovery of the wounded. The Holy Father invites all, in this moment of suffering, to find comfort and strength in the resurrected Jesus, imploring God that hope may not falter in this hour of need, and that forgiveness and love may prevail over hatred and revenge.
