The Credential Letters of the Ambassador of Lebanon to the Holy See, 05.11.2018

At 12.15 today, the Holy Father will receive in audience H.E. Mr. Farid Elias El-Khazen, ambassador of Lebanon to the Holy See, on the occasion of the presentation of his credential letters.

The following is a brief biography of the new ambassador:

Ambassador of Lebanon to the Holy See

H.E. Mr. Farid Elias El-Khazen was born in 1960, and is married with three children.

He attended a course in architecture and social sciences at the American University of Beirut from 1976 to 1978, and subsequently obtained a bachelor’s degree in economics (Missouri State University, 1980) and a doctorate in international studies (Johns Hopkins University SAIS Washington DC, 1987).

He has held the following offices: professor of political science at the American University of Beirut (since 1988); director of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at the American University of Beirut (2000-2005); member of Parliament in the Group of the Free Patriotic Movement, founded by the current president of the Republic, General Michel Aoun (until May 20, 2018).

He knows Arabic, French and English.
