The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the diocese of Ibarra, Ecuador, presented by H.E. Msgr. Valter Dario Maggi.

The Holy Father has appointed as auxiliary of the Patriarchate of Lisbon, Portugal, the Rev. Daniel Batalha Henriques, currently parish priest of Torres Vedras and Matacães and vicar forane of the vicariate of Loures-Divelas in Lisbon, assigning him the titular see of Acque Tibilitane.
Rev. Daniel Batalha Henriques
The Rev. Daniel Batalha Henriques was born on 30 March 1966 in the freguesia of Santo Isidoro in the municipality of Mafra, Patriarchate of Lisbon.
He carried out his studies in philosophy at the São Paulo seminary of Almada (now the diocese of Setúbal) and in theology at the Catholic Portuguese University of Lisbon, residing in the “Cristo Rei dos Olivais” major seminary.
He was ordained a priest on 1 July 1990 for the Patriarchate of Lisbon. During his ministry he has held the following offices: formator in the São Paulo seminary of Almada, parish priest of Ramada and Algés-Cruz Quebrada, spiritual director of the major seminary and member of the presbyteral and pastoral councils.
He is currently parish priest of Torres Vedras and Matacães and vicar forane of the vicariate of Loures-Divelas in Lisbon.
