Appointment of prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints

The Holy Father has appointed as prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints His Excellency Msgr. Giovanni Angelo Becciu. He will take office at the end of August, in the meantime maintaining his role as Substitute for General Affairs of the Secretary of State until 29 June, and continuing as special delegate to the Sovereign Order of Malta.
