Appointment of bishop of Saskatoon, Canada
The Holy Father has appointed as bishop of Saskatoon, Canada, H.E. Msgr. Mark Hagemoen, currently bishop of MacKenzie-Fort Smith.
H.E. Msgr. Mark Hagemoen
H.E. Msgr. Mark Hagemoen was born on 4 September 1961 in Vancouver in the same archdiocese. He carried out his primary studies at the “Holy Trinity School” and his secondary studies at the “Vancouver College”, managed by the Irish Christian Brothers. He obtained a bachelor’s degree from the University of British Columbia in 1983. He undertook his ecclesiastical studies in Saint Peter’s Seminary in London, Ontario, Canada (1990). He subsequently obtained a diploma in “Youth Ministry Studies” from the University of Seattle (1996) and a diploma in “Advanced Studies in Ministry” from the University of Chicago (1997), in the United States of America, and a doctorate from Trinity Western University in Langley, British Columbia (2007).
He was ordained a priest on 12 May 1990 for the archdiocese of Vancouver.
After priestly ordination he held the following offices: vicar of the Saint Stephen Parish in Vancouver (1990-1992), and of the Saint Mary Parish in Chilliwick (1992-1994); director of archdiocesan youth pastoral ministry (1994-1999); pastor of the Saint Nicholas Parish in Langley (1999-2004) and the Saint John Apostle Parish in Vancouver (2004-2011); vicar general (2004-2009); episcopal vicar for archdiocesan pastoral services (2007-2011); president of the Corpus Christi College and principal of Saint Mark’s College in Vancouver (2011-2013) and member of the college of consulters (2004-2013) and the council of the “Centre for Ministry Development” (2004-2013).
In 2006 he was named Prelate of Honour of His Holiness.
He was appointed bishop of MacKenzie-Fort Smith on 13 October 2013, and received episcopal consecration on the subsequent 15 December.

The Pope has appointed as apostolic nuncio in the Philippines H.E. Msgr. Angelo Accattino, nunciature counsellor, elevating him at the same time to the titular see of Sabiona, with the dignity of archbishop.

The Rev. Msgr. Angelo Accattino was born on 31 July 1966.
He was ordained a priest on 25 June 1994 and incardinated in Casale Monferrato.
He holds a degree in canon law.
He entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See on 1 July 1999, and has served in the apostolic nunciatures in Trinidad and Tobago, Colombia and Peru, at the Section for Relations with States of the Secretariat of State, and at the apostolic nunciatures of the United States of America and Turkey.
He speaks Spanish and English.

The Holy Father has appointed as under-secretary of the Congregation for the Clergy the Rev. Fr. Andrea Ripa, official of the same dicastery.
Rev. Fr. Andrea Ripa
The Rev. Fr. Andrea Ripa was born in Rimini on 5 January 1972.
He obtained a degree in classics from the University of Urbino in 1997.
He was ordained a priest for the diocese of Rimini in 2004.
He obtained a licentiate in canon law from the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome in 2006.
He obtained a doctorate in canon law from the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome in 2010, with the thesis, “La novità mancata. Il valore probativo delle dichiarazioni delle parti dal Codice del 1983 alla Dignitatis Connubii: il contributo della giurisprudenza rotale”, published by the “Corona Lateranensis” Lateran University Press.
He obtained a diploma as attorney to the Roman Rota in 2013.
He has carried out pastoral service in parishes in his diocese of Rimini and in the parish of Santa Maria delle Grazie al Trionfale in Rome, and has been ecclesiastical assistant in Agesci.
He is a lecturer on matrimonial and canon law at the Higher Institute of Religious Sciences in Rimini, and on “General Norms” at the Faculty of Theology of Lugano and the Pontifical Lateran University.
He has served as Defender of the Bond, judge and judicial vicar at the Flaminio Regional Ecclesiastical Tribunal in Bologna.
Since 2013 he has served at the Congregation for the Clergy.
He speaks English, French, Spanish and Latin.
