The Holy Father Francis has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the diocese of Petrolina, Brazil, presented by H.E. Msgr. Manoel dos Reis de Farias.

 

Resignation and succession of archbishop of Bahía Blanca, Argentina

The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the archdiocese of Bahía Blanca, Argentina, presented by H.E. Msgr. Guillermo José Garlatti.

He is succeeded by H.E. Msgr. Carlos Alfonso Azpiroz Costa, O.P., currently coadjutor bishop of the same archdiocese.

 

Resignation and succession of archbishop of Luziânia, Brazil

The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the diocese of Luziânia, Brazil, presented by H.E. Msgr. Afonso Fioreze, C.P.

He is succeeded by H.E. Msgr. Waldemar Passini Dalbello, currently coadjutor bishop of the same archdiocese.

 

Resignation of bishop of Brescia, Italy, and appointment of successor

The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the diocese of Brescia, Italy, presented by H.E. Msgr. Luciano Monari.

The Pope has appointed as bishop of the diocese of Brescia, Italy, H.E. Msgr. Pierantonio Tremolada, currently titular bishop of Massita and auxiliary of the archdiocese of Milan.

H.E. Msgr. Pierantonio Tremolada

H.E. Msgr. Pierantonio Tremolada was born in Lisone on 4 October 1956. He studied in the Milanese seminaries until presbyteral ordination on 13 June 1981.

After ordination he was sent to Rome, to the Lombard College, to attend the Pontifical Biblical Institute, where he obtained a degree in sacred scripture with a thesis directed by Fr. A. Vanhoye, “E fu annoverato fra iniqui. Prospettive di lettura della Passione secondo Luca 22, 37” (“And He was counted among the wicked. Perspectives on the Passion according to Luke 22: 37”), published in “Analecta biblica”.

He has served as lecturer for the four-year theological course in Venegono and rector for the formation of permanent deacons; from 2000 to 2014 he was member of the presbyteral council and from 2012 to 2014 he was episcopal vicar for evangelization and the Sacraments.

He was appointed auxiliary bishop of Milan and to the titular see of Massita on 24 May 2014, and received episcopal consecration the subsequent 28 June.
