At the end of the Eucharistic Celebration, before leaving Piazzale Kennedy, the Holy Father listened to the song in Genoese dialect, “Ma se ghe pensu…”. Then, after greeting the members of the Organizing Committee of the visit and around thirty of his relatives – some who live in the province of Genoa, others from Piedmont – Pope Francis transferred by car to the airport of Genoa where he blessed a statue of Our Lady of Loreto at the foot of the steps to the aircraft, and received farewell greetings from the Authorities who had welcomed him in the morning. The aircraft carrying the Holy Father departed at 19.50 and landed at Rome-Ciampino airport at 20.35. The Pope then returned to the Vatican.
