The Holy Father has appointed:

- Bishop Wilfredo Pino Estévez of Guantánamo – Baracoa, Cuba, as metropolitan archbishop of Camagüey (area 18,671, population 844,675, Catholics 536,000, priests 29, permanent deacons 12, religious 52), Cuba.

- Professor Pio Baldi as president of the Pontifical Academy of Fine Arts and Letters of the Virtuous at the Pantheon. Professor Baldi was formerly head of the Directorate general for Architecture and Contemporary Art of the Italian Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, and president of MAXXI – National Museum for 21st Century Arts.
