The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Joseph Nguyên Chí Linh of Thanh Hóa, Vietnam, as Archbishop of Huê (area 9,822, population 1,850,000, Catholics 69,148, priests 135, religious 1,301), Vietnam, and as apostolic administrator sede vacante et ad nutum Sanctae Sedis of the diocese of Thanh Hoa. He succeeds Archbishop François Xavier Lê Văn Hông, whose resignation from the pastoral care of the same archdiocese was accepted by the Holy Father.
