The Holy Father has:
- appointed Msgr. Victor B. Bendico as bishop of Baguio (area 2,655, population 740,000, Catholics 537,000, priests 84, religious 316), Philippines. The bishop-elect was born in Roxas City, Philippines in 1960 and was ordained a priest in 1984. He holds a doctorate in sacred liturgy from the Pontifical Athenaeum of St. Anselm, Rome, and has served in a number of pastoral roles including seminary spiritual director, parish vicar, rector of the Maria Mater et Regina Major Seminary, pastor of various parishes, member of the commission for the clergy and for the liturgy, member of the Board and Senate of the clergy, and member of the board of the Colegio de la Purisima Concepción in Roxas City. He is currently parish priest of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Roxas City. He succeeds Bishop Carlito J. Cenzon, C.I.C.M., whose resignation was accepted by the Holy Father.
- accepted the resignation from the pastoral care of the diocese of Clogher, Ireland presented by Bishop Liam MacDaid.
