Vatican City, 27 June 2016 – The Holy Father has appointed Fr. Arturo Pablo Ros Murgadas as auxiliary of the archdiocese of Valencia (area 13,090, population 2,803,631, Catholics 2,644,000, priests 1,554, permanent deacons 16, religious 4,785), Spain. The bishop-elect was born in Vinalesa, Spain in 1964 and was ordained a priest in 1993. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in theology from the “San Vicente Ferrer” Faculty of Theology, Valencia, and has served in a number of pastoral roles including parish vicar, parish priest, diocesan assistant of the Cursillos de Cristiandad, member of the presbyteral council and superior of the major seminary of Valencia. He is currently parish priest of Requena and Episcopal vicar of the archdiocese of Valencia.
