Other Pontifical Acts, 21.05.2016

Vatican City, 21 May 2016 – The Holy Father has appointed:

- Fr. Pavel Konzbul as auxiliary of Brno (area 10,597, population 1,387,000, Catholics 546,000, priests 347, religious 354), Czech Republic. The bishop-elect was born in Brno-Juliánov, Czech Republic in 1965 and was ordained a priest in 2003. He holds a degree in electrotechnology from the Technical University of Brno and a doctorate in electromagnetic field theory. He joined the lay association of St. Dominic in 1995 and served as vice-superior of the national province. He carried out his theological studies at the Sts. Cyril and Methodius Faculty of Theology at the University of Palacky at Olomouc, and spent two years as parish vicar at Letovice, Boskovice and Hustopeče u Brna. He was spiritual director of the episcopal lyceum of Brno from 2005 to 2013. He is currently parish priest of the Cathedral of Sts. Peter and Paul in Brno and member of the presbyteral council of the same diocese.

- Cardinal João Braz de Aviz as prefect of the Congregation for the Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life, as his special envoy at the National Eucharistic Congress of Portugal, to be held at Fatima from 10 to 12 June 2016.

- Cardinal Dominik Duka, O.P., archbishop of Prague, Czech Republic, as his special envoy at the solemn Eucharistic celebration to commemorate the 1700th anniversary of the birth of St, Martin of Tours, to be held in Szombathely, Hungary on 9 July 2016.

- Archbishop Francisco Escalante Molina, apostolic nuncio in the Republic of the Congo, as apostolic nuncio in Gabon.
