Other Pontifical Acts, 14.04.2016

Vatican City, 14 April 2016 – The Holy Father has appointed:

- Fr. Luis Javier Argüello García as auxiliary of Valladolid (area 8,073, population 527,159, Catholics 448,085, priests 410, permanent deacons 9, religious 1,707), Spain. The bishop-elect was born in Meneses de Campos, Spain in 1953 and was ordained in 1986. He holds a degree in civil law from the University of Valladolid and has served in a number of roles, including teacher and subsequently rector of the diocesan seminary, delegate for vocational pastoral care and diocesan administrator of Valladolid. He is currently vicar general of the same archdiocese, moderator of the Curia, member of various diocesan Councils and member of the Commission for the permanent diaconate.

- Msgr. Bertrand Lacombe as auxiliary of Bordeaux (area 10,725, population 1,494,064, Catholics 1,002,000, priests 230, permanent deacons 31, religious 425), France. The bishop-elect was born in Montpellier, France 1966 and was ordained a priest in 2001. He holds a degree in economic sciences from the University of Montpellier, and a degree in theology from the Catholic Institute of Lyon. He has served in a number of roles, including parish vicar, assistant to the chaplaincies of public schools in Béziers, parish priests, teacher in the seminary of Tolosa and assistant in the public schools of Libron; and national chaplain for the Scouts and Guides of France. He is currently vicar general of Montpellier.
